Do you think the hotels will have room for us, or should we make other arrangements?

Didn't know if they had people from the damaged areas needing the rooms.

I drove past Mokan Dragway a few days ago. They had their Memorial weekend race going on. Good to see that the dragstrip is business as usual.

I reserved my room a while back at the Residence Inn. Called them today to check on the timeframe for the drags and they said we should be fine for then. On the flipside I'll gladly give it up for someone without a home.

Was wondering, but I felt like a dickhead to ask so soon....Glad they're still on but man, kinda have a guilty feeling rollin into town as an outsider after a thing like this happens. I dunno. Holiday Inn telephone just rings and rings, haven't made a reservation yet..............

Good to hear- Joplin businesses still need to do business. That town has been good to us over the years so whatever supports the local economy.
By the way- book on line and use the code Ryan gave us and you should be able to make reservations.

Guys I live 5 miles east of the holliday inn motel & the area where the motels are was un damaged. Might be a little challenge on the fast food ,that area was hit pretty hard. LEON

Glad to see it's still on...even those of us who lost a LOT in the Denning, AR tornadoes on 5/25 are praying for Joplin folks...have fun, looks like yet ANOTHER setback keeps me from being so much as a spectator again THIS year. (sigh)

This is Great NEWS!!
My thoughts....
Going to the drags and having fun is what Joplin needs too. People showing up and bringing fun to the city. Supporting the city just as the years previous. There will likely be more spectators this year then ever. People out wanting to enjoy their life and have some excitement. To turn our back on the people of Joplin and not bring a great show because of the devastation just adds insult to injury. There have been many people from the HAMB and everywhere else supporting Joplin in so many ways. I think this year will be better then ever!
No camping at the track fellas... We are done with that mess...

I am with you on this one. They need all the help and encouragement we can pour on. Praise the Lord I have never been through anything like this but know if I had I wouldn't want people to avoid me. Good thoughts Barn Find T.
