Anyone have a good side profile photo of the used-to-be root beer brown Gammell-now purple w/flames Schifflea- 32 3 window. I am going to re-chop mine and the profile of that particular coupe has always seemed just right. I don't save magazines or I'd have my own photo. Thanks!

You've just picked one of the cooolest '32 3w's ever built to copy. It has always been one of my favorites.

I personally dig the laid back windshield posts, etc. on the Gammell 3- window too. That's the way they were often done in the day when the purpose of the chop was primarily to cheat the wind. My Bonneville racer was done that way, and the two media-covered, pseudo patina 3-window coupes (Rolling Bones club) from New York state that are seen a Bonneville every year and many other events have what appears to be the Gammell chop, or something very close to it. These are very rare chops, however. Seems like for years it was considered uncool to make the leading edge of those suicide door in anything other than a straight line.

Not a profile shot but it's the only one I have.

adding the material needed to make a three window chop "straight up and down" is a ton more work. keep that in mind.
Personally, I like bent or leaned A's on five window 33-34's only. I always thought it looked awkward on anything else.
This will probably start a fight. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I beleive that Bruce Meyer is having Bob Bauder restore it to its Doyle Gammell configuration.

If I recall it ran a Moon tank on the front, black interior and a Rochester injected Chevy. I think it had a Vette fuel injection script on the hood or cowl. Root beer brown and Roth striping. I like the car in both configurations.

Does Bruce Meyer even own his own tools? I mean, even for show?
