tools cost more than having it done.

need pinion depth tool, toque wrenches, dial indcator with magnetic stand, selections of side bearing and pinion shims, red or white lead paste.

may be more or other ways to do it, but an expensive job not to do right the first time.

Jerry is right. No job for someone not experienced. Can get done several times for what tools cost and parts are too expensive to screw up. Get a good manual if you decide to do yourself. I been screwing with cars for 40 yrs and I still won't do this. Good luck!

I found a local guy that will set up a rear for $50 if I buy the parts. It's worth that not to smell like gear lube for a week! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Basic hand tools.

A press for the pinion bearing/shims.

Dial indicator (with magnetic base).

Prussian blue (or something similar)

Torque wrench (for the pinion nut)

A shim pack and crush sleeve.

And, A LOT of time!
