I know that Ford cars from 32 to 48 had wheels with 5 x 5 1/2 except for the 36 to 39 wide fives. Also trucks had them till in the 60's. How about the 49 to 54 Ford wheels what is the bolt pattern on them?

I think it's 5x4 1/2, If i remember right. WHen i for my disc brake kit i made sure it was the same as the original lug pattern so I could re-use the wheels.

So is it 5 x 4 1/2? anyone else have an opinion?
My 51 has 5-41/2. Truck wheels had the larger pattern. TP

49-51 Merc wheels are 15", 5" wide 5 1/2, so are 46-48 Merc but they are narrower I believe.

I believe '49 Ford cars had 16" wheels. I know '49 trim rings are 16", wheels must be.
I believe the 49 Deluxe (cheaper) model had 16" wheels and the Custom (top end model) had 15" wheels.
Both with the standard 4 1/2" pattern.
The 4 1/2" pattern was standard on Ford passenger cars up to 89 at least and I'm fairly sure beyond that.
I do know that my 89 Ranger 4x4 with the good looking sorta Center Line appearing wheels had the 4 1/2" pattern.
Had to pull one of the 10 x 15" wheels off my roadster and replace it with the Ranger spare to get it into a utility trailer for a move across town before it was running.
All that was needed was a touch of extra clearance and the narrower Ranger spare bolted onto the Ford 9" rear axle with it's 5 x 4 1/2" pattern with no problem.
The 5-1/2-inch pattern continued on with F-150s into the '90s, maybe later . . .?

The 16" was standard on the cheapest model up into 1953; 15" was optional.
