how in the hell do these drums come off??....slidehammer no good...hub puller no good...
one guy suggested they had been on so long to just pry them off but i figured i'd ask the experts before i broke stuff...thanks ahead o time

If you are using the correct hub puller for the Banjo Rear-ends, then it should be a piece of cake unless your brakes are frozen. First, make sure that your e-brake is off. If the problem is not your ebrake, then the job becomes more difficult. If it is rusted from sitting up too long, I usually try to spray wd-40 in to the drums from the backing plate area in case the shoes are rusted to the drums. I also unbolt the wheel cylinder to try and gain some movement. After the wd-40 has soaked for a while, I use the hub puller and tighten slowly while tapping on the outer perimeter of the brake drum. As it moves, use more wd-40, crank on the hub puller and tap again. Repeating this usually works for me. In worse cases, I gently apply heat to try to make the drum expand.

I know on the 40's chryslers, the cheap backwoods tech way was to loosen the spindle bolt a little bit and put the tire back on. Then drive the car around in a tight circle until the drum pops off.
