1962 Chevy Impala with a 409 & 4 speed
This car was originally a 283 eng. with a power glide trans.
This car is in pretty good shape for a 49 year old car.
The body & interior would need restored.
It has some rust in the lower quarters & over the pass. side wheel .
The current eng. & trans is a fresh 409 & a Muncie M21 4 speed.
The block & heads are from a truck. It has a small solid lift cam,
.030 over bore with 11:1 pistons which make it around 9:4 to 9:6 compression.
The trans has had new bearings put in it. The shifter is a Hurst Comptition Plus.
It has a new flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, & throw out bearing.
All new u-joints & carrier bearing installed.
It has a new alum radaitor,new battery, & a new 2 1/2" full exhaust.
The rear end is a stock open with a 3:55 gear ratio.
All 4 floor pan have been replaced along with the trunk pan.
The front supension is stock & seems to be tight.
All the lights work. The gas tank has been cleaned.
The glass is good with the exception of some wiper marks on the windshield.
It has all new brakes, master cyl, wheel cyl,& shoes.
All 4 shocks has been replaced.
ET type slot wheels with fair tires.
The car currently insured , titled, & taged in KS.
If this is your cup of tea, then it would be a great start for restoration
as most of the mechanical things have already been done.
You can drive it home or trailer it, which ever you would prefer.
