hydraulik for el camino

I swaped some stuff I didn't needed for a hydraulik system with all necessary parts (2 pumps, lines....) - I'd like to lower my 60 el camino with that because for me this would be the cheapest way without cutting the springs only. - I would prefer to ride it with only one battery (if a second is a must - then ok), because I don't like to make it a lowrider and hop around, I only like to lower the car

I wonder how driveable it would be and how much trouble the system would make, driving it hmmm say 6000 miles a year, because I don't wanna pick it up broken all the the time (should be wifes car)
anybody made some experience with riding on hydraulik??

hi rainer;do you realize that the rear cylinders will stick thru the p/u box if you install them in the usual manner?as for the ride ...thats all in the coil spring itself,the heavier the spring and the shorter,the stiffer the ride.as for dependability that depends on the abuse.i've had the same system in one of my cars for 7 years and all i've ever done is replace the seals in the pumps and or the cylinders.if your going to run it off one battery then i would suggest looking into a RV setup where you can switch the charging system from battery to another to charge it.also the pumps are available with a variety of different pump head ratios, the higher the gear ratio,the quicker it will move on lower voltage.in short...there as reliable as anything else that doesnt get beat on and maintained.
