Wow, very cool. I love those valve covers. Aren't they 331 pieces? Neat color choice on the engine, too.

Very cool. If all goes according to plan I'll be putting a 56 Cad 365 into a 28 A sedan. Keep us posted.

bigcheese: the covers interchange from '49 to '62 models. But, yes, I think they are the early (331) covers.

Everything in those pictures looks brand spankin new. You must be one of them GOLD CHAINERS I've heard so much about. I'll bet I never see you at a swap meet.Cool!

Cool setup. That 350 turbo should make a real performer out of that 365 caddy motor. Now, I can just see a dual-quad Eldorado setup on it.
I'm planning on using some stainless steel spray-can paint on my Hemi for the all-silver look too....

Cool! It's nice to see another Caddy motor going into a rod.
What're you running for cam and ignition?

I guess the motor does look painted,it's not.Just bare metal fresh from the rebuilders.Got a dual quad that will be on it shortly. We need to flop the trans mount around to get the engine back a bit.Fabbing engine frame mounts is next.Cam is stock, ignition is a ball bearing dual point conversion.
I'll keep posting pic's as we progress.
SPAM? Mmmm good.

Those "block letter" valve covers are actually from 55 and later Cad motors. Early 331's have the script letter valve covers (which I put on my 55 motor), and yeah, they all interchange on the 331, 365, and 390 gen motors. Nice to see some other OHV Cad folks!

I was thinking the waterpump was gonna crash into the rad by the looks of things.
The turbo is really going to make things nice with that engine.
What body is being used on that project?
Jive-Bomber,
What did you use for hood lacing?
It looks very clean.
The Caddy motor ain't too shabby either....

The body is going to be a 1930 A pick up.
Hope to have more pic's latter this week...
Yeah, the engine does look like "spray-on-chrome"
Nice work, is it gonna be your shop truck?

Jay-
I bought stock model A hood and grille shell lacing from Mac's. It wasn't expensive, and I think it gives the car more of a "stripped down stocker" look.
Thanks for the kind words about my flivver...

JB: Thanks for the correction on the valve lettering. I never can remember which is correct script for what year. Too many buggers swapping them around on me.
FWIW, I'm planning on building a 390 into a 27T roadster. Already have the LaSalle trans, log manifolds, 97s, mallory ignition.....just gotta get it all happenin'. Pickin' up a 27cowl and doors this weekend.
