All this talk about tech posts inspired me to go out and take some photos of the dash in my pickup cab before I got busy with a grinder and knocked all the welds off. it is a 1937 car dash in a 1928 closed cab pickup that has had the roof lopped off. I am going to run A roadster windshield posts and am going to channel it. So I left the stock dash rail (at the bottom of the windshield). The top of the dash was mounted to that to keep the tash up off my knees. Anyway, here are some photos.

Instead of cutting the center out of the dash, Dave at The Lowering Block trimmed the ends and built some patch pieces to get it all to fit right. Here is the left side.

And the right side...

And here is a shot of the side of the cab. It has been stretched a few inches (in the cab corners) to make it FGF (fat guy friendly) by Dave at The Lowering Block in El Cajon, California.

And finally here is a shot from under the dash so you can see where it is on relation to the bottom of the cowl...

That really looks great. How much room did you lose from the floor to the bottom of the dash?

Great shots Court. I like how you thought about mounting it. Is that the very top of the stock dash rail in the first shot? Did u cut any of the rail before welding the 37 dash to it?

Great job. Let me know if you need some gauges for that 37. I have a few extra housings and a few good components for the gauges I'll give ya!

Say Court, I was over at Dave's the other day to talk to him about the 36 and I noticed your A was missing, glad to see it's back home. Dave swapped the 36 for a 62 Chebby, soon to be the next Chicane...thanks again for the use of the trailer. Good luck on the RPU...

I didn't really lose any room between the floor and the dash because the bottom of the dash is pretty much level with where the gas tank section bolts to the cowl. And because it is set up that way, the dash actually sits under the top of the dash rail by a little bit over a half inch in the center (at the peak of the dash). You can actually see some of the holes in the back of the dash rail in the first photo.

And I could totally use some gauges! I'll pm you.

Thanks all for the words of encouragement. Makes me want to ditch work today and go work on it!
