View Full Version : Could any Bay area hambers use a roached 32 5W?
Fella called George sent me a pic of an ex racecar 32 5w that he wants to sell. It's pretty roached, and there are two important points to consider; the deuce grille shell and rad are not with it, (stolen) and the doors are just skins, lacking all inner framework, including the jambs.
That said, someone might think it worth the time and effort to resurrect it.
He wants $2000obo for it, his email is dsolimine@bigvalley.net
I thought about it for myself, but with shipping etc, it'd be too expensive, so I throw it out to you bay area dudes.
Mart.

actually, thats probably not too bad considering a nice shell goes for 20K plus nowadays http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif,it comes with the frame right? and i guess you can get some of the replacment sheet metal new?

I'm thinking that's too far gone for even me and I usually start with pure crap. You should have seen some of the girls I brought home. On second thought maybe you shouldn't have. Thank God for darkness and drunkeness.

Well I emailed him. I might be young and dumb enough
to build something like that.
I like the way it sits just like it is.

that is worth 2 grand.
Serious, it is. it will need way too much work to be a super nice show car but a guy could make an old timey lake car for cheap.

I believe this 5 window was worse when Rusty Streamliner ( Marshall ) started with it.
RustyStreamliner (HAMB member) built it and owns it. Drives it everywhere.

WOW that is cheap. My 32 5 window was almost that bad and cost alot more. Remember guys, we have all the time in the world since we build our own cars and not paying someone todo it for us. All it takes is alot of hard work and like me that price range was all I could afford for a duece. I guess it comes down to how bad you want one. I am guilty of seeing that famous hot rod moive with the burning question where were you in 62. I had to have a 32 5 window since I was 10. Now I have one. I will e-mail him and see what kind of deal can be worked out, unless one of you guys wants it. Its a screamin deal that's for sure.

Hey dont cut it. It isn't as bad as mine was. The price is a little steep though. I don't have any pics yet but I have it together enough ta have a little fun. Around here everything is rusty , ya get used to it. It is sure fun ta trash around in 32, people notice them alittle more than some cars. Not that that you would build a car like that for the attention. But if I have to explain about havin fun with someone's cast-offs than you probably just dont get it.

it looks similar to the paint job Robert Williams gave his deuce roadster, mimicing old race cars, hmmmm, what if this could be the actual car Rob't copied from an old photo or something? stranger things...

If that car wasn't in California... I'd spend some of my recent E-bay "earnings" TODAY!!! I've seen far worse get glued back together...and considering all the patch panels you can buy....WOW... What a time to be livin' on the wrong coast! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Don't suppose he'd throw in free shipping to a Deuce poor upholstery guy in OHIO do ya!?! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
