I have been getting concerned emails about the upcoming/delayed coloring book project.
Well - we are back on track......
after much printer drama - we finally decided to call it quits with the east coast printing company. We have gone local and I hope they can do a good job.
So....just so everyone understands......there were some issues with some of the things that were submitted and I took it on myself to just scrap the problem pages.
If you were one of those guys - I am sorry - I simply did not have time/$ to clean them up or have them redesigned.
Perhaps we can get something later if we are able to do another book next year.
I want to personally thank everyone that took the time to do something and hope that everyone will be happy with the completed project.
Should be out in about 3-4 weeks.

Another GREAT Friday Art Show! Surely, a ton of talented folks here.
In honor of the "Pinstripe Legends" charity art auction going on this weekend in Milwaukee, Wi. to benefit Wisconsin Childrens Hospital at the Milwaukee WoW, I thought I would post some pics of some of the art created there over the last few years. This event is populated by some of the best pinstripers, sign painters, and kustom kulture artists in the country.
Enjoy!

Here is something new
Sinclair- that is fucking bad ass!!!!!!
Next week is the Detroit Autorama (Feb 25-27th). We have 18 artist's in the "Artist's Alley" down in the basement. Last year we all fell in love with the "Little Honker". An awesome 60's style Bantom dragster built by Tyler Hilton and his Dad. We thought it would be cool to each do a peice of art depicting that cool car. We're donating our versons to the Motor City Auto Art Mavens auction for Leader Dogs for the Blind. Make sure you stop by and check the great panels, pinstriped stuff and our "Little Honker" artwork. It goes for a good cause. (Bring lots of cash!!!)
Here's a photo of the car... And a few of the pieces.

The Little Honker art extravaganza is one BAD ASS idea. And to have the worlds best artists each doing their version of it is awe inspiring. Tyler and Bob are two of the nicest guys I have met in along time. So cool. Good luck on the auction. This is a shot I took at the Jalopy Drag Showdown in 2010. Slim

Here is latest sculpture of mine ,I had asked HAMB artist ToddJ if I could use and loosely base my sculpt of his BAD RAT design.I loved the cap and cigar he just draws a really cool rat.So with his approval I came up with this sculpt using a real rat trap just weathered and beat up with airbrush and oils.I know it's not exactly like his drawing but the concept is there. We both thought the mickey mouse suspenders and buttons were a nice touch, as well the comedy of the set rat trap and cheese in hand.So here he is the meanest but coolest rat in town THE BAD RAT

Doc.
Hey Doc, Back in the day was El Mirage 1948-49. Owner was Manuel Butkie, Driver was Don Corwin. Aerodynamically inspired design is a '27 T flathead roadster turned around on its chassis. Gotta love home built solutions to radically good ideas.

Friday art show postes are always my favorite! I'm thinking of trying to do some computer drawing. What should I look for in a drawing tablet and software? I'm a budget but think me and my kids would get a lot of use out of it. My 11yr old is doing very well at drawing and loves to do it. I used to be a staight "A" art student back in the day. Any help would realy help. Thanks and keep up the awsome work!!!

Yep wacom tablet is the right stuff for computer drawing... I'll go further... The cintiq ( I got a 12wx, my best computer buy EVER ! ). Photoshop is excellent too, of course but with your tablet you will have a drawing / painting software for free, like "painter classic"...
You can also find free painting softwares that are awesome, like "sai painting tool".
Traditional wacoms are quite hard to handle in the beginning, because you are watching your screen and not your pen, that's why cintiq is way easier and pleasant to use!
About you kids, (and for you to if you want) there is an excellent free software on the Nintendo DS lite (not on later DS) called Colors!
The DS screen is kinda small but still possible to have fun with that...
some Colors! artworks I did:

Thanks I did the artwork for it all from vintage adds and I have colected Mountain Dew and have had a old one with the pop still in it. From when I was a kid. I saw the throwback stuff but already had this drawn for years but couldnt find the right frig for it. I missplaced the artwork and found it about two weeks ago. I had found a frig but hadnt taken the time to draw it up again. So when I found it I had to get it done.

I got the idea years ago when I was in CA and a guy was restoring old frigs to look like coke ones. I have always like Mountain Dew not the new stuff so much but for the hillbilly stuff with the old Mountain Dew. I also have never seen one like it so it had to be done.

Fil I like em' sort of photography with a bit of thought and a little different, nothing wrong there.
Thanks Bomonster, the first ever modified model I ever attempted was trying to build that. Always fascinated me.
Spoggie, you shamed me into starting something, it should be done by next friday...... i hope.
Anyway, here is an old one I think most of you would have seen it though. Coloured pencil, I'm no Norwell!!........
