"Self Reflection" Scratchboard refined and finished today and sent off to its new home in Japan. I'm hoping Customs doesn't open the package and freak out. If you're from any other country I can scratch one out for you too. I promised myself I would only do one per continent.

Wicked stuff guys!
Here's a color version of the "Wicked Willy" Singlefinger Speed Shop (http://www.singlefingerspeedshop.com/) T-shirt art that I posted two weeks back. T-shirts & posters will be available at the Detroit Autorama later this month so make sure to step up and say hi to Larry and his crew over at the Singlefinger Speed Shop display!

Here's a couple sketches I did on the plane ride home from Los Angeles...
The first is a 15 minute sketch as close to the way it looks in my book as I could get.
Very loosey-goosey...

This is a commissioned piece, a V-Day gift from a girl to her guy:
http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5260/5408113604_c896a9da2f.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/browndogwelding/5408113604/)

This piece was born from a couple "mishaps". The frame was built from copper pull studs that were used to straighten my wrecked truck, and the wheels/fenders were sourced from the Honda...I was going off of the wrong pic when I originally put that together(http://www.flickr.com/photos/browndogwelding/5399657196/). When life hands you lemons...

I am not so sure, but I don’t think I will ever recover form the GNRS that I just got home from. If you were there and saw the Then and Now, A Historic Gathering and the Suede Palace and the alley behind it (as well a select other choice vehicles in the other buildings) then you know what I mean. Here is my first piece of art for 2011. Been busy working on the house and had a few minutes to knock out something. It is a 5"x7" scratchboard. I may get brave and put some color on it, not sure yet. I plan on making some more soon. Hope you enjoy. Nate Grice

Friday has started off perfect, xllnt coffee, fab art show, above freezing temps today. Hot rod club meeting this aft., life is good. First compliment goes to the new kid on the block ej1928 for his hip 34 truck model, nice work bro, good to see a new showing. Jigger rocks again, and the Norwell cutaway coupes are faves forever. All offerings are offf the hook and a big Thanx to all who displayed, just floored that we have this art community here on the H.A.M.B. have a great superbowl weekend everyone. High on art and lovin it. I am being naughty and showing my license plate topper that was a fund raising thing done by the merchants in my home town for new band uniforms, it is my parents business, year is 1956 ~sololobo~

Bob and Gary strike again... Nice start guys. Nice image hotrd32...
Here's a couple sketches I did on the plane ride home from Los Angeles...
The first is a 15 minute sketch as close to the way it looks in my book as I could get.
Very loosey-goosey...

Most times I like these "unfinished" works more than a finished piece - They allow me to see so much more - Again this is coming from an individual that can't draw a line of any shape or color

I had some old parts in the garage that I threw together for a Christmas presant. Mr. Caterpillar may not be quite as artsy as some of the other stuff on here, but I figured it would be good enough to get posted up on the FAS. Checking the FAS is probably one of the most looked forward to online routines I have. Thank you everybody for all of the amazing work and inspiration!

GaryC- super clean and cool as always
Bomonster- I love the M.C.Escher vibe!
Dutch- Love your illustrations!
Zombie-Nailed it! like you always do, NOBODY can do colored pencil chrome and reflection quite like you.
ToddJ- Killer panel! the rat is great.
Ryan-the striping and lettering is SUPER clean!
Jeff-Crazy cool attention to detail! The cutouts are great!
Here is what I've been getting done at "Th'ink Tank Tattoo" here in Denver by Fish. I asked Jeff to use some of his art and had Fish create a half sleeve to tie it all in.

Wow, what a lot of work this week - some wonderful photography - particularly the Bonneville shots. I'm still drawing the monster Fiat. Here are the gearbox components laid out on the workbench - these poor cogs are going to have to deal with 2200ft/lbs of torque...

A more technical piece of the front axle done in biro and then coloured in photoshop...

I know it's not a hot rod but I thought you might appreciate the crazy engineering. If you're really keen , I've also started a flickr photo gallery (http://www.flickr.com/photos/stefanmarjoram/sets/72157625974670240/) of the build.
I really like these water color renderings!

I checked out your gallery. Very nice display of how shop work can turn into artwork. That helped me justify the $600 Nikon I just bought this week :).
Very nice job as usual from everyone else as well. Keep it up guys! You inspire me.
Have fun with the camera. If you haven't got one already it's worth investing in the cheap and cheerful 50mm 1.8 lens (canon and nikon both do one). Fantastic in low light, for portraits and detail shots.

Haven't done anything on topic for a while, so here is one I did several years ago. I always considered it one of my better pieces of work. (Spirit of America).
Here is "the Souped Up Coupe" drawing, just finished today. It's kind of the sister peice to "Now is the Hour" (a 32 Roadster). It's 16"x20" drawn on illustration board. 20"x28"...

I already have a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 for my Canon and I love it. I ordered one of those new Nikon P7000's in a kit off Ebay as a more portable and quick-shooting alternative. I did a lot of research and heard they make great professional-quality point-and-shoots with a lot of options. I'll probably pick up the telephoto and wide-angle lenses with the adapter for it. Amazon has a kit for $60. I should have the camera tomorrow. Can't wait.
