Anybody got a larger version of this painting than the one I can find on Google image search? That '34 roadster in the foreground fascinates me.

I believe it's actually a phaeton!
I like W's pics because the early Ford detail is mostly very accurate--I always respect artists who get the grooves in a firewall in the right place. Rembrandt would have definitely done the same, if he had known what a deuce was...

There is a slightly larger version in this auction:

BTW, I always thought it was a phaeton, not a roadster...

Yep, looks like it is a phaeton. You can see that I was definitely in need of a bigger picture! No matter, it's still cool. Thanks.

I've got a 24 by 30 poster of it hanging at home. I could run the '34 through the scanner if you want.

Hey does anyone know the name of the Robert Williams print that had a decaying hot rod thinking back to past days? I saw that print once and have been trying to find it again...

A very cool painting. An odd detail is the rods windshield.

I always liked the look of an open car ('32-'34s in particular) with its windshield folded. I agree that it's odd to see it swung out at the top, though. Speaking of odd windshields, how about the "Dragnet Roadster" and its Model T windshield that won't close all the way!

I have that on my office wall too. Really cool. I found a guy at the Pomona Swap Meet selling them for 15 Bucks. If I can, I'll look for him this weekend & grab you one.. DRR.

A friend of mine and I were just talking about this series of prints yesterday. He has three hanging on the walls of his shop, and I thought we should print a few up. I had the lead slead, and hot rod race when I was younger, and since have not been able to find any more. Of course there would be royalties to pay...

my favorite detail on the 'hot rod race' painting is the little piece of electrical tape on the headlight wiring on the roadster in the foreground. perfect.
anyone know where i can buy a copy of this print online?

Just wondering, does anybody have a copy of the two-color, 3-D effect Williams poster with the exploding hot rods? Its sort of a non-abstract deconstructionist piece, like an exploding parts assembly manual. I don't remember what its called - the hot rod big-bang theory?
I bought the only copy I've ever seen from a guy out in Vegas on eBay, never seen another. BTW, someone is selling the Pete & Jakes flathead V8 poster by Williams on eBay for a starting price of 9.99, don't bid too high, cause you can get them from an L.A. area shop for $25.00. I'll post the link if anyone's interested.

yeah, says they are sold out of "The Hot Rod Race." I called them and talked to someone about a year ago. They said there is supposedly some stock of the print floating around, but they don't have any.
