I had Max Grundy do this design for me, it'll be going on t-shirts soon. Designed by an American artist and screen printed in Detroit on USA made shirts! Something I've wanted to do for a bit, I couldn't be happier with what Max came up with.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/browndogwelding/5388307836/" title="Brown Dog Welding Made In America(front) by Brown Dog Welding, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5051/5388307836_205c9abb4d.jpg" width="282" height="500" alt="Brown Dog Welding Made In America(front)" /></a>

This spring I'm gonna do a site redesign, and my buddy Matt Trombley has been helping me get some pictures to use. I thought this one turned out pretty cool.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/matttrombley/5226641636/" title="Josh Welton of Brown Dog Welding by izthistaken, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5290/5226641636_71206aacfb.jpg" width="500" height="334" alt="Josh Welton of Brown Dog Welding" /></a>

Hopefully next week I will have my version of "Little Honker" to show off!

Jen & Gents,
I don't comment often for if I did I would be known as 'The Friday Gusher', but every now & then the level of talent & pure beauty of the ART you so generously share with the rest of us is so absolutley over the top I must chime in to express my lowly but heartfelt gratitude for the awe inspiring works that seem to flow so easily from each you every single Friday.
This is one FAS that has completely blown me away to the verge of tears both with the humor & the depth of soul.
I can only implore you all to PLEASE, PLEASE, never stop sharing your love & talent for that would truly be a tragedy.
THANK YOU ALL,

Hey BoMonster- Love your work- always have. Just letting you know in class I teach we do optical illution discussions on Thursdays and I used to old Escher self portrait one day... and to show how others have interpreted it I used your print like that that had the reflection in the piston head- the kids loved it and they loved the details you put into the background garage scene.

Hey BoMonster- Love your work- always have. Just letting you know in class I teach we do optical illution discussions on Thursdays and I used to old Escher self portrait one day... and to show how others have interpreted it I used your print like that that had the reflection in the piston head- the kids loved it and they loved the details you put into the background garage scene.

thepolecat: Man, you made my day - and it's just starting. I appreciate the encouraging comments from fellow FAS lovers but if kids are diggin' it and it inspires in some small way, what could be better? Thanks for doing your part in teaching them the value of good art.

Tell them to check out GaryC's excellent piece this week. You just know what that driver is thinking.

Last Saturday the Chicago Brushmasters held a panel Jam at Midwest Hot Rods in Plainfield, IL for guy & girl artist to gather and work on panels for our Charity auction at the Chicago World of Wheels show March 4 to 6th. Mike Stellagen hand makes wood paint & brush kits. He donated this one to be auctioned off at the show. Seven of us, Bob Behounek, Larry Hansen, Tom Kelly, Jive, Peter Pan, Stits and rj the Wizard, striped it. Some gold leaf lettering will be added to the front panel. I will post pics when that is done. rj

Since I've joined up here, I've often posted on the greatness of the artists that post here. In fact, these art threads and those of the vintage photos are what initially attracted me to the site in the first place. I've slipped away from posting my amazement each week out of laziness while still enjoying every Friday, but after seeing the show so far this week, I must say that I am seriously impressed by the phenomenal abilities of the work I've seen posted here.

Thank you all so much for sharing and, by all means, please keep it up.

I will post pics when that is done. rj

Wow RJ that looks awesome I just wanted to say wat a panel jam it was you did a great job hosting and I was glad to meet you there I spoke to you a little I was wearing a black beanie and a white tee shirt.

And now for something completely different... It's a brass bodied electric resonator guitar. Built by myself and striped by my new buddy Craig Henkel. The louvers were punched by another guy here in town named Chip.

Hey folks, this is my PhotoShop work. I took an early '50s Chev 4 door and made it into a chopped coupe. I have seen several real cars made this way in Nova Scotia this year. Yeah, a lotta work, but we are nearly out of neat old stuff.

I posted earlier, but more knock out stuff came up. Dtroit Dinosour's "Goddess" is a true salute to womens ability to multitask and keep us boys taken care of. The automotive subjects of the art work seem to be a message to us to not be overwhelmed with multi projects or tasks in a build or daily life. I think it is wonderful! Slim's photo of "the camfather" Mr. Ed Isky is classic cool. He is truly one of my heros, thanx Slim. I could single out everyones stuff but ramblin enough. ~sololobo~

Holy Cow!!! I always try to watch the FAS unfold, checking in a bunch of times.............but this weekend I've been out in the garage working on my wife's car. I just took the time to check out this week's show, and am blown away! There are new names all the time, and all the "regulars", too. This may be the best show I've seen on here for a very long time. Thanks to all of you for sharing your talent with those of us who have an appreciation for it. YOU ALL ROCK! :D

And GaryC, that one's killer!

Been a while since I participated, but I did this watercolor/gouache deal recently. There are about a thousand things wrong with it, but it was fun to work in non-digital media for once.
