well worth a look. Some excellent footage from Santa Ana drags and El Mirage. The standard real player will play the MPEG 1

Have a look at this, this is a color film covering the 1959 Nationals. This is THE best early footage I have ever seen, this stuff is better than any jackson bros video. How about the Allison Powered Green Monster going 170 and smoking them for the quarter? or on car camera footage of the dragmaster car launching on a 9.1 pass ? All in color !!!!!!!!! It is in two parts, it streams good on realplayer

my connection won't allow me to download that, but i can almost guarantee that when i was in driver's ed in 1996, we watched something AS old. it was like "Wheels of Tragedy" or something. there were some no-goodnick greasers cruising around with some cheesy music that epitomized 50s hood and they wrecked and all died or something. the thing that stands out was a pair of workers in a car and one was drowsy. they wrecked, and recreated the wreck, but had real footage of the scene of the wreck and actually showed them loading the hurt passenger. my driver's ed instructor was INEPT as hell, barney fife kinda guy from back in the day that gave my dad tickets for squeeling his tires, he said "listen to the pain this man is in when he screams" which is serious, but man, the medics on the scene picked him up by the feet and BY THE HEAD to put him on a stretcher! they loaded a spinal injury case BY HIS HEAD!!!! man, driver's ed was so bad for me that the whole 2 weeks are blocked out. the thing that did teach me was the 4 2hr sessions of driving time. it was funny, in driver's ed though. bogard would always say "if this place catches fire and you freak out, i will not hesitate to put your head through the wall to save the rest" and stuff like that. all the kids would come back after they graduated it and raise hell. a few weeks after me some kids from a school even more hick than my own turned live chickens loose in the class and ran. brilliant:)

Rat it's not like that at all! in the first one this guy gets a ticket racing a jalopy then happens upon the Santa Ana drags, he sells his car, gets a 32 roadster and goes and runs 150 at el mirage. No wrecks in it !! It looks like SCTA had somthing to do with it.

A little O/T but when I was taking my heavy duty eltt we saw a 50's forklift safety film called "the color of danger", funniest thing I've ever seen. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Those are cool links.

How would I go about getting copies of these movies so I can watch them on my TV, like on a DVD or VHS?

Can you down load and put this on a DVD somehow?

Very cool links. I am with Neal on this one. Could they be saved to VHS or DVD?
