Great work. I really like your stuff. I need to PM you some questions sometime. I went to graphic design school at ECU in the early 90's in Greenville. Im in Greensboro now.

I keep admiring your stuff and thought I should speak up finally. Great start to Friday!

Been away for a while, but I managed to get the time this week to post. Here's a closeup of part of a design I did for a t-shirt with some old Ford...

I like seeing bikes on the FAS for the same reason I like seeing them at cool car shows - they're bitchin. I saw this one at Gene Winfield's annual show and liked everything about it. Big tank, spokes, drum brakes, drag bars, short pipes. Since I couldn't ride it, I decided to draw it. Or scratch it in my case.

Ok this may be on the frayed edge of being appropriate for the Art show, but in '09 at Bonneville I had the chance to walk around the hanger that housed the Enola Gay. Took tons of pictures of the rapidly decaying hanger. Here is a print I made today. Three separate photos.

The block and blower are plastic, the rest is real stuff. If you were at SEMA 2008 you may have seen it in person. I may also have this at the Atlanta World of Wheels show in two weeks. If you're in the area please come visit my booth, say hi and get yourself some hot rod art! Of course, this is for sale. If interested email me at gardinier@comcast.net

ok here goes
You need a hammer, a hard surface, drills, some reasonable sized round bar, needle file, wet and dry and chrome polish!!

place on it's edge on the hard surface...I'm using the back of a vice, tap the edge and turn slightly after each hit...do not thump it one as that will bend the coin out of shape..please note the glass of white wine is very important!!LOL

http://usera.ImageCave.com/paulatxntric/ring/DSC01073.jpg

you can see from this how the edge is getting wider!!

http://usera.ImageCave.com/paulatxntric/ring/DSC01081.jpg

the coin may get out of true as shown here...

http://usera.ImageCave.com/paulatxntric/ring/DSC01083.jpg
use round bar (or as I did a old, big ass masonary drill) to flatten it back..you may have to do this several times!!
when you have the width of the coin about right.....drill the centre out

http://usera.ImageCave.com/paulatxntric/ring/DSC01084.jpg

to make the ring bigger (diameter) place on the round bar, support on end and tap and turn the ring as before Yep I have used an old drill again!!

http://usera.imagecave.com/paulatxntric/ring/DSC01086.jpg

continue doing this till you get it to the right size...the inside of the ring is going to be sharp...it will cut you....if you push the ring on to your finger when its just a bit too small it's gona get stuck....trust me on this!!LOL

carefully file the sharp bits out the centre and give it a going over, inside and outside with wet and dry,
polish with chrome cleaner

http://usera.ImageCave.com/paulatxntric/ring/DSC01090.jpg

I have only made a couple and havn't yet managed to save the writing on the inside....but it is possible....there is also a second method that means you get the wording on the outside and the inside....gona give that a go and ill post the results!!

BUT give this ago and your better halfs will love you...trust me on that!!

I respect your opinion and can see what you appreciate about the truck. I love the old Studes; from the cab back, along with the licks, it looks great.
There are a lot of cool features , taken by themselves, that are cool, like the Chevy headlights and the fabricated grille, as well as the paint.
My biggest bug-a-boo is probably the hood scoop. Without it, the whole
package may flow a bit better...
Anyway, I can also appreciate the work that went into building the thing.its not a stude. its a dodge. i made the eyebrows over the headlights.so they're not chevy. and for what its worth, i never liked the scoop either.i sold it a couple of years ago .and he's happy.

Yea! I one in high school study class with a newer copper/nickel quarter and smacked it with a spoon about a million times, then drilled it and polished it. You could read everything very clearly but by the time i peened over the letters and drilled it, it would only fit my pinkie. Im not a pinky ring guy.

I think to get good results you need a striking object that is fairly soft with a convex face (a spoon) and take your time especially with an old silver quarter because silver is much softer than the copper/nickel alloy quarters.

i made this as sort of an experiment to see how it would look. its for my father and i's garage. I cut the wood, cut the hole for the clock, and wrapped it in canvas, then did all the lettering, rat fink and glued the clock in tonight. i know the clock looks out of place, but i wasnt going to get a decent clock for an experiment, that clock was $1.
id LOVE some feedback and any questions about it, hell even if you want one for your shop we can work something out!
