View Full Version : A "Two wheeled section" on the HAMB...
'Flyin' Dutchman'

A little while ago I was going through some Triumph post or something, and saw some words show up about a "Two wheeled section" on the HAMB... Even Ryan talking about one (some time, some day)..
First I wanna say: Ryan, this is not a hint to "quickly talk you into this" or "to rush you" or whatever. I know you're really busy with all kinds of stuff...
I was just interested in seeing how many people would be intersted in a "Two wheeld section" on the HAMB for all the motorcycle enthusiasts on here...
Ryan, if you're not pleased with this post, please delete it... I would understand.
Honest opinions please...

I agree whole-heartedly. I think there is enough interest in bikes here to support a separate section much like the Art section (which I enjoy, although I can't contribute because I'm an idiot in that arena - OK, I'm an idiot in most areas! ) even if it is just the archives...
I think it would be self-sustainable & I'm sure we could find someone to moderate it...
As the HAMB grows, each of the "sub-cultures" grow with it & I think those among us who own/like bikes represent a fair sized audience here that would justify a separate forum. This would sharpen the focus of the main board too.

I am in the middle of my first building my first Triumph and the posts and advice from people out here has been great. Lately I find myself looking at
the bike posts more than anything else. I really think that this would be a great idea - it might even bring in more people to the HAMB...

i am interested in a two-wheeler's section... we have a certain quality here that other bike listservs don't have. i have found some good bike advice on here, and nobody seems to be anti. it's a good idea.

sounds good to me!
in fact, i've been wanting something like that for so long on the HAMB... and after being unsatisfied with countless "chopper forums" that seemed to circulate around high-priced off-the-shelf bikes, rather than real build-yer-own... i made my own- LowbrowGarage.com. there's a few HAMBers over there now, has only been live for 5 or 6 days, ~40 users thus far... but growing daily.
although, my vote is still for the HAMB to have a 2 wheel section... this place was, is and always will be the single best forum around.

I was a lurker for a long time and use to sneak in and read alot of the bike post.
I would also be up for possible help in the moderation of the section as long as I had some help. And a big Thanks needs to go out to Ryan for allowing us scooter trash types to post on the main board.

Wow, I suggested a bike section last year sometime and it was a no go. Glad to see this happening.

man this is going to be cool. If you frequent another well known chopper board! then you will know the URL for the new board on here. I dont want to spill the beans but it looks cool. Thanks Ryan for getting this going and to Maurice for suggesting it again.

A two wheeled section would be cool...I've got a '76 Honda xl250 that I lowered and chopped all to hell with a sportster tank and rear fender. It was free...can't beat that.
