Absolutely.
I don't understand the 3rd pic.Is that an English twin I-beam suspension on the front?

What? No pics of your Arbuths? Then you could have a full house.

I really like that Mallock, but Alex will not let me get near it. He says my sloping brow ridge obscures my vision enough to where my dragging knuckles would put a hole in the stretched aluminum skin.

Hehehey...Alex! It's even lower than I expected! Good lord I could have fun in that!
Unk, thats an English Ford I beam (or two!) and split wishbones, converted into an overlapping "Split beam" axle. Mr Mallock figured out how to make it work and work good. This setup is possibly the ultimate handling configuration for the early Ford suspension parts. Next step would be a race prepped double wishbone setup like modern Race cars! This car has a live rear axle as well but still gives amazing performance due to the long 4 bar links and either a Watts link or a "Mumford" link. ( A design based on the Watts idea but configured so that the roll center is actually adjustable to the point of being below ground!)
That car IS a Hot Rod...just from a different country. On the street or a road course it could smoke just about anything that pulled thru the gate at ANY Street Rod meet!
Hot Rod engineering at its finest!

Last time I talked to Mallock racing there were still 10 or 11 MK6 Mallock U2 's known.
The third pic is shot from the engine bay forward, you can see the back of the radiator, the x member where the swing axles mount, and how the Ford Pop ( Anglia ) front axle is modified.
Performance wise these cars were for a long time very even with the Formula 3 cars of the same year.
Thats running fenders ( but no lights ), A rear wing,a cast iron 1700 pushrod engine, a 4 speed gearbox ( no transaxle allowed ), no posi, and Formula 3 size rims and tires.
one with a nicer engine than mine can do 12's in the quarter.
Here is a pic of a Jasag, a later car, more down force from body work and wing ( nose and wing not on the car in pic ), and double a arm front suspension.

Hackerbill, the top of the body work is 23".
And to my knuckle dragging friend from phoenix, I did not mean to hurt your feelings man.

23"!!! Thats only a snack for an SUV! Can you post a few closeups of the F&R suspensions? Seems like Mr Mallock bent the I Beams & the wishbones to attach very low in the frame. Is that for Positive camber control or Roll center reasons? Both?
Whats steering it and how is the linkage setup?
I have 397 other questions...but I'll ease them on to you... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Really interesting little car, with a whole new/old spin on I beam setups! Glad you put it up.
Thanks Metalshapes.

The Ford Pop front I beam is cut in the middle and lengthened with a straight piece of steel to get te extra length.
I put them upside down in the car ( like a Lotus Eleven )to get more droop, and more caster.
The steering is R&P.

Thanks, I want to go trough it so I can have fun with it again...
Maybe I should postpone building a HAMB drag car?

What type of springs are in it Alex? Could you post a couple of pics of the bare front and rear chassis with suspension? Sure would clear up a load of questions for me!

Whats the deal with the upside down axles? Big improvement over the original setup?
How did you deal with the Kingpin inclination after flipping them...or did you just cut and flip the inner sections?
Questions....questions! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The shocks and springs are Spax Coilovers.
Spax are not that great when they are new and mine are wore out...
I am saving up to buy some Koni's, that should make a big difference.
The KPI is the same because I just flipped the axles, not the spindles.
All I had to do is lower the front an Inch or so to get the front wheels back to the Negative Camber I wanted.
