Got Milk?
I always liked Dan Woods' Milk truck.
It's been through a bunch of paint jobs.
I think the simpler white and purple,
as it first appeared, looked best.
I added a few minor changes.

Gotta agree on these cats Gary.
NOTE; The typically amatuer 'Hotel' typescript in this piece is part of a clumsy rejig by others. The original had the title in Western script by yours truly.

Nice start fellers. Gary I love the Milk truck.
Mr. McKenna I'm drooling over that panel rocket. Oh how sweet it would be to have one of those in the stable.
Nice doodles Neal and Soggie.
Great scratch Bo.
That olds is a HOT SHOT Buick 59.
I'm working all night and straight through tomorrow so I hope to be back on here later,
we'll see. Wish me luck...

I've been waiting to be able to post this up for some time. I had to wait 'til the show was over before letting the cat out of the bag:
I was approached to do a more "classic" design (by classic, I mean an approach you've seen before) There are a lot of old water slide decals out there of "powered by plymouth, ford, chevy, mopar, etc." This was my own skew on the same old wheel and tire for Manifolds on Main in Irving Texas. The coolest part about this is, not only was it used on an event shirt, but also as the participant award.

The design was given to a jeweler to create a 1.75" wheel with a bronze base for all who participated in the event. I don't have to often think in 3D any more with my work, but this one I did again (funny how out of practice I've become!) Here is the breakdown of how the layers worked out that was sent along to be machined out.
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7rsDpMt6SAg/TMGhCY6zXcI/AAAAAAAAAt8/BmAPXjLe6K0/s1600/mom_exploded.jpg
At any rate, I'm stoked! I love to see this stuff jump off the screen and become a physical object. My work takes on a whole new meaning when it becomes a product to me. I love to see designs pan out.

Happy Halloween!
It's not real related but every year we have a pumpkin carving contest at work. So this is my latest creation.
If you care to check it out here are all the pumpkins http://edjedesigns.com/halloween.html (http://edjedesigns.com/halloween.html) and the Galloping Hessian could use some support :) I'm losing to the cow.

Always a great art show here on fridays. Thanks to all the artists who show up.

That has to be one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. Love how the cards look in the background.
To all, great show!!!! Really shows me how little talent (or actually lack of) that I don't have... Wish I would have learned to draw as a kid.

Widewhitewalls your visual description of your project really nails it. I am thinking in layers all the time when creating laser cut artwork. Got to remember how things stack up. PS That would make a great candidate for a larger laser cut piece!
Haven't posted any thing new in a while. Getting established in Chicago after moving from California. Regained acces to a new laser cutter and was able to create a couple of test projects. Cut from recycled cardboard and painted with leftover latex house paint. Hope to be doing more artwork with better results in the future.

Thanks for the compliments Gary, Jigger, Larry, and everyone else. Nice to be back and able to contribute.
Dan - It's an actual vehicle. Now days, I don't really have time to do art "just for fun", especially nice stuff (I'm talking to you, Larry!) So most of what I post is taken from my day job or freelance work, so they're specific vehicles they want drawn. Sometimes I modify things and dress it up with some background elements just for me. In the case of that one, it was a Wyotech shirt design that they provided the background art for. I just illustrated the sedan from a photo they sent, and dropped it into their design.

Those are hilarious. If those are done with just paint, you pulled it off nicely.
Years ago I did a couple of fake personalized plates for an MG {I believe} a body shop turned into a giant salad bar for a pizza place. They lined the interior with stainless steel for the food stuff. I guess the plates fooled a bunch of customers because they were always touching them because they looked 3-D. ;)
