5&3/4" is just right but your chop looks ok too...wait 'till you get to removing little wedges from the A-pillars to get the posts lined up again...

haha FLASHBACK to TECH: tinbender i started a car on fire in tech school doing that... the slag and sparks from my shitty welding was falling down into the dash and started the wires and insulation on fire! It was funny at the time... I got to use the huge CO2 extinguisher and that ruled.

It's purrfect at 3".
It's because it's at perfect proportions to the height of the body part.
It'll make people look at it and scratch their chin for half an hour and then say, "Did you chop that truck?" and you'll say "YEP" and they'll say who did it for you? and you'll say, "That's my hotrod, I did it." http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

thats kinda weird this add just came up . i just fnished up a 3 in on a 54 cheby truck about five minete ago. i had the same thought .people will sit theere for a while trying to figure it out ? i think the 3 in looks the best so far . ive done a 6 anda 9 on early 50 trucks and its too much i thought .i sank the front curved glass on mine and keep the stock rear and moved it down . if i can get a cam ill post pics of it .good luck with your truck the chop looks to be at a good start to me

if u live your life by the law you wont live life at all

Speedy, I'd like to see it if you can scare up a camera. I'm thinking about chopping my '52 and most AD trucks I see seem to have too much removed. Three inches seems like it would be about right. Anyway... If you get a chance.

I thought that on the 32 through 34 pickups there would be no need to slant the front pillers, but from your photo, it appears that the alignment is off enough that you will have to do more than just weld it up. What are you planning to do there?

Nope the "A" pillar tapers,I will "v" it out top to bottom and lay the skin back till it lines up.
