Hi All!
Looking forward to learning lots of stuff from all of you old-timers (experience, not age). I see by looking around that there are many highly knowledgeable people here that are willing to share their experiences with other less seasoned members such as myself.
When much younger, I enjoyed building rather than buying what I chose to drive. Then I reached the part of life that demanded attention to career and family, so vehicles were put on the back burner. Now I find that I am able to once again take up this wonderful hobby. I was able to work with one of my sons to put together a nice vehicle (although not a classic) for him and found the experience to be very rewarding. Now I have a daughter who has decided to build rather than buy. She has settled on a nice '58 Ford F100 stepside pickup. The body is good but mechanically we are starting from scratch. I have a 2000 F-body 3800 motor that I have decided to use in the truck and we are going to connect a T-5 5 speed from an S10. Things have changed a lot since I last did this kind of thing, so the research is both fun and frustrating! My daughter is actively involved in the process and together we plan to spend the next year or two getting her truck put together.
Well, that's a little about us and what we're up to. I look forward to getting to know some of you through this process. We will post pics as we can.
Thanks All!
