My dad got an email from a guy who is trying to restore an old 50's showcar. He has almost no info on it but he wants to do it right. Let's see if we can work some of that Hamb mojo!!!!

Here's a pic and the email dad got today.

Good morning John and Betty, I had a feeling you hadn't got my E-mail because it has been my experience that Hot Rodders are possibly the most helpful in the world!! Well here goes another shot in the dark. I recently purchased this car from a man who had it since 1966. Unfortunately all he could remember was that it was built in OKC in 1957-1959 and the is where it came from when he got it. The other thing is he said the car was the same as when he got it, with only a few small changes (gauges, dash, steering wheel) and I believe this to be true. This is why I think it is possible to trace the history of this car. Before I tear into it I would like to verify that this is what it originally looked like and restore it to that. I also feel that this was probably a show car because of the amount of chrome. Here is a description: 1927 T bucket channeled at least 6", 28/29 A grill shell (shortened), Purple with white interior, 1952 331 Hemi with Edmunds 2x2 & Headers, 39 Ford Transmission, 57 Ford Rear End, 16" Harley Davidson front runners, F-1 Steering, F-1 shock mounts also used F-1 shock mounts to attach radius rods, frame is suppose to be 1927 chevy, 51 Buick tail lights, suicide front end, Chrome - headers, windshield frame, valve covers, generator, headlights, entire front end except spindles, and rear leaf. I will send a couple of pictures in another E-mail. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Bret

Yeah Root he bought it from a freind of mine that lives in Olympia Washington, he built it in Oklahoma as far a show car that I'm not sure about. I know that he just sold it on E-gay along with a few other choice pieces.

I may ask him Flat Top. He and my dad were in the same circles as kids. They all raced together. Dad says he has never seen the car.

Superbell, I think the guy that sold it wasn't the original builder/owner. He got it in 66 or so.

Damn thats a great looking little T. Show car coverage was big in CarCraft and Rod and Custom in the 60's you might get lucky and find it there.

Help me out here a little. When was the car built, approximately? What mag.'s does he think it was in? I've got access to the motherload of old mag.'s. I'll find it if it was in one of em'.

I'm not really sure if it was a show car but due to the amount of chrome, I would say it was.

It was built in OKC between 1957-1959.
I'll be gone for a few days, so I'll check with ya'll when I get back.
