Actually joined a while back, but wanted to get a feel for the place before introducing myself. Got my start as a kid, helping my dad restore a Model A coupe. First car was a 1939 Chrysler; still regret sending it to the crusher. Put myself through school working in a service station, back in the days of embargoes and gas lines. "Don't call it a GAS station," my boss would say, "this is a SERVICE station." Now restoring an old-school hot rod that I pulled from the weeds in my neighbor's yard. Looks like there's a lot of great information here for me to soak up.

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone. To answer some questions, yes, my avatar image is the car I rescued from the weeds. According to the previous owner, it's an amalgam of about 5 vehicles assembled by a returning WWII vet; chassis is '28 Willys, origin of body unknown, engine long gone. Here's a pic of what it looked like when we cut the brush off.http://lisacach.com/images/carbusheswhole.jpg
