JimA posted this pic of a 38 Ford taken in Inglewood, Cal. sometime in the fourties.
(It was back in the days when Jim was going through a post-plenty-of-cool-old-pics-stage, - I loved that.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

This pic you won't find in any mag, its an old friend of mine Don McGraw who sadly died about 12 yrs ago, he was a great guy.
The pic was featured in the Louver Press summer '89, which is the Coachmen of central Fla news letter, of which i am a member thanks to Don.

This is also Don(20) & his buddy Bill Betts(18) posing by Bills Ford in their home town Cedar Falls, Iowa in the year of '55. These two guys started the Counts auto club which lasted until '62, & 35 yrs later (when this pic appeared in the Louver Press) they were still in the same car club tegether, only this time it was the Coachmen of Central Florida.

i love posts like these...love the history....keep the pics coming.....rodders journal #23 has got some classic stuff in it.....i`m a great collector of magazines and books from the 50`s and 60`s and i`d love to be able to bid on those `small books` in the current auction but the price is way outta my league....if any of you avid collectors have `doubles` of any issue and would like to trade on original art, drop me a line

This is Bernie Desjardins' channelled A roadster from 1958. He was one of the organizers of the "Tecumseh (Ontario) Push Rods". These guys all had state of the art cars in the 50s and raced every weekend at tracks in Ontario and Michigan. The note on the back of this pic says " Beat Connie Kalitta with this car at New Baltimore (Mi). He had a full race Willys, I drove mine" Cool or what! It was Packard Patrician powered and the guys would pull that big dual quad Packard and put it in the rail every other weekend. Very fast for it's day.
I've had this old pic. for years. Would like to share it
That's a nice pic, Andy, I used the "instant fix" on my imaging software, it darkened it up a bit.
Got any more??
Mart.

One of my favorite sites, from Paul Hutchins. Has a lot of early 60s drag/kustom pictures from Denver, Bakersfield, Chicago, and Sioux City IA (my home town).
