What are the symptoms of having water in your gas?

My car is running funny and I'm trying to think of all of the possible problems.

check your fuel filter if there is very much water you'll be able to tell.

run by a diesel shop (truck stop), and get some of the additive they use to combat water in the diesel...
Works in gasoline, too... but use 1/2 as much as it says, at first.
ive gotten water in the tank more than a few times... cured any issues, every time. 'Course, that's assuming that you do have water in the gas...

symptoms,

you may notice it first taking a corner, when the fuel at the bottom of the bowl will slop up into a jet, essentially putting out the flame.

the motor will cut out like a starvation problem but when you look in the carb and work the accelerator you will see fuel.

if it's really bad you may even see beads of water on the gas soaked surfaces.

disconnect the fuel line at the carb and with the ignition disconnected crank the motor over and pump fuel into a clean glass jar.

you will see water at the bottom.

replace the filter, pull the top of the carb, you will see fuel at the bottom of the bowl. mop it all out.

basic stuff here.
