Well hello everyone my name is Chris. I recently aquired both my late uncle's vehicles that they were in the process of restoring. My goal is to fix these up, using a mix of what they would have wanted and what is in my head. My baby is a 1955 Super 88 with the stock 324 engine.

She runs good, but recently had the generator seize, and I am preparing to upgrade to an alternator. Problem being the only one that seems to fit exactly is the PowerGen's t1 wire alternators which use a generator body with the inner workings of an alternator. They cost about $500, crazy money for an alternator in generator clothing. I am still debating on colors for this car, I don't care about keeping the original colors. I will start a thread once I start doing the restoration on her.

My other project right now is a 1978 GMC Caballero. I have a Hotchkis suspension kit on the way, and I'll post some pics as I work on that project. The stock springs were cut at some point, and up here in NH that wont fly. I might swap the dash out for a different one, probably a Monte Carlo. I just like the dash, and vents better, still researching this possible change.http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=20102&pictureid=216902

Both cars have given me pleanty to do, plus I have two jetboats with 455 BB's that I'm trying to restore at the same time. Too much,... too much!! :o The 55' is my baby though, and I can't wait to start on her. I actually need to put a "Not for Sale" sign on her as once a week I have a note on the windsheild, or card in my door asking if she's for sale. Sorry guys not today.:)

Well I am not the gearhead my uncles were, but I have all the ambition, and willingness to learn to make up for it. I hope to make some friends on here, and share any information that might help.

While the Olds is boss, you may find that the Cab is not HAMB-friendly.

BTW, what's so wrong with a generator?? They are easy to repair, are immune from EMP warfare and last forever!

With that typed, Welcome from a Milwaukee native!
