deuce grill how far off the ground

New old guy from Warren County N.J.
Finally finished painting my grill on my 6inch channeled 31. The last thing i want to do is scrape the bottom off of it going down the road. I need to figure out how close to the road i can mount it. I have a 350/350 on a dropped straight axle on a single spring. I've thought of making a sheet metal template and slowly lowering it, before i actually mount the grill. Any ideas? Randx
