After reading on here about painting, I have replaced my Binks cartridge mask ( mouth and nose only ) with a 3M full face cartridge type. Only problem it will not work with glass. The bows from the glasses break the seal. Beside eye surgery do you have any suggestions??

Tomh, I am a corporate safety officer by profession. Every manufacturer of fullface respirators make a specticle kit for their brand of respirator. The kit consists of a special frame that you have your prescription(lenses) mounted in. The frame attaches inside the respirator and stays there permanently. Anytime you put the respirator on you are ready to go. Contact 3M for a kit. They will need the model # of your mask. It should be molded or stamped on the mask or on the face piece viewable through the window. Hope this helps. Sam

Tom, my fears and your symptoms have led me this way. Please tell some details on the model of mask, fit (other than the glasses) etc

Mo Junk, thanks for your reply. I paint about once every 5 years, (takes that long to get a project done). so to invest in glasses to fit the mask is a little $$$$. But you gave me an idea. I took my old welding helmet that I don't use anymore and removed the magnifying lens I had and with a little filing was able to install it in my new respirator.

Tman - I called around to the paint supply stores, found the 3M mask for $110.00. Plan to paint this weekend, I'll let you know how it works.

Had that problem with a SCUBA mask once. Finally just glued some old glasses lenses to the inside of the face plate.
