Here's a picture of my modified project. The frame is stepped 3" in front and 12.5" in the rear. I am running a stock 46 Ford front end with split wishbone and spring behind the axle. I will post a picture of my front end design in my next post.The rear is an 8.75" Mopar B-body using 46 front wishbone stock for radius rods. The rear wheels are early 50's International pickup(5 on 4.5 pattern), 16" that accept the stock ford hubcaps. I am using a model A rear spring and crossmember.Up front I'm using stock 15" early Ford wheels. The car will have srintcar type steering via the left front wheel.The body is the front half of a 26-27 Four touring. The rear of the body is the back of a 33' Ford 4dr. front seat.Now that the frame is together, the body will be reconstructed during the Winter. Sam

First, let me say, I don't know shit about cross spring suspensions, but isn't that spring too short?

Cool,......so the drive shaft runs uphill,right?
Because it sure looks like it does from the transmission angle to the pinion.......

Lookin good, Sam....if it turns out as nice as your pickup, you'll be proud of it. The front spring does look kinda short but with engine weight in it, the shackles should go a little more verticle.

I'm really likeing this style front end. At ride hight, what would be the best angle for the shackles to be at?

All, I am watching the front shackle angle. I believe ideally you should have about 30°. If it doesn't settle I will purchase a 1" longer main leaf. The driveshaft does run up hill-had to to get it low but the driveline phasing is right on the money. I am trying to build a car that has the old time jalopy look but is safe and dependable. I have the Missouri license plate HEAP. The chassis, driveline and engine will be neat and painted. When the body is completed it will be smoothed somewhat and brush painted. I'm using an old mailbox for a driveshaft tunnel. The floor of the box will slope upward to the rear. In the front the door will still open and provide storage for registration papers, pliers. screwdriver, duct tape etc. The mailbox will make a nice armrest as well. The chassis is made like a Model A an follows the contour of the body.

Sammy,
Good to see your progress on the modified.
I want to do a similar front axle setup on the Paige.
Question;
How are you going about titling your modified. I got some paperwork from the state but it seems there are a few different ways to go about it.
Natually, I'm looking for the easiest way of doing it...
