I found an old AFB in the shop. I'm trying to decide if it's worth saving. The tag number is "4028SA""3876966", and the stamp on the carb base is "E3-4028SA". I looked on the net, but couldn't find a page full of part numbers. Thanks in advance. Have a nice day http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey Bugman, the Hollander says that the 4028 SA came on 66 Chevy 327's with automatic trans. Hope this helps.

That is a Carter AVS (Air Valve Secondary), the AFB's twin sister. You'll notice the spring controlled (adjustable) plate above the secondary metering system. They work GREAT, and move a lot of air...Edelbrock has recently re-introduced them. The goofy upflow fuel inlet can be threaded (1/4 NPT); then use a 90° fitting. Happy motoring... Frank.
