'35 - `37 Ford Pickup Pictures

I'm looking for some more ideas for a '35 - '37 Ford pickup. I have a chance to pick up another cab & chassis cheap. Here is a picture of my current truck.

Here is my '37 project. Maybe getting a little to smooth for some people but I'm the only one I need to please. I have a monster 1.5 inch chop, homebuilt hidden hinges and bumper bracket holes filled. The firewall battery mount was removed and filled in with a section from a '36. I want to lower it a bit more, has a dropped axle front with parallel leaf rear.

From the rear is my home built bed, made a filler piece for the spare tire dip in the running board but settled on glass rear fenders. Building a rolled pan for under the bed and still need to make my tailgate. I cut the top below the rear window to leave it full size.

bdrake, truck is looking pretty nice... whats the current drop on it? id like to go lower with mine, would be nice to have a base reference.

My truck needs to be dropped BAD! It's still stock up front. I have not decided on how I want to do it yet!

My truck has a Chassis Engineering front and rear suspension. Four inch drop axle, reverse eye spring, split bones and modified 37 spindles. Yea, added disk brakes. I also raised the front crossmember a little for maybe another half inch drop, not sure that was worth it and it is pretty close to the oilpan. Current front wheels are 15x5's, from a 55? Chevy, with some 145radials.

The rear currently has 1.5 inch lowering blocks on the parallel leafs. Not much weight on the rear yet. All the springs are new so they may settle a bit more when I start driving.

Mine has 59A engine alum. heads, fenton headers, elect. ign., columbia rear, spider caps nad banjo wheel. All this and more and it could be yours(bt it ain't cheap)

Here is a local truck I've always liked. Notice the extended one piece hood top. Scratch built bed that is shorter than normal works good with the chop.

Pardon my ignorance(I'm learning)But what are Big & littles?
I figure that 16"Kelseys are wheels.Any pics of them or should I just do a search?

I'm thinking of making a fenderless truck next time.

As far as my current truck goes;
I have big & littles on her now (600-16 front & 700-16 rear). I should have went with 550-16 on the front for more drop. I'm into three new WW Coker's (fronts & spare) about $400 and I don't want them to just sit in my garage.

I dropped the nose 4" with a Durant monoleaf. I'm still thinking of installing a dropped front axle.

I like Kelsey wires, however I'm not sure they look that much better than the Ford wires to go through the hassel of changing them out.

I plan on installing a blower on my flatmotor next winter. The tranny and rear end were rebuilt last month (3:78s installed) so it is time to break them!

stone - do a search for kelseys. big n littles is bigger rim/tire combo in the back, and smaller rim/tire combo in the front, emulating the race car look... also,depends on the ride, you dont want to go too big or too little

16" Kelseys were aftermarket wire wheels made by Kelsey-Hayes to fit '35 Fords, or other early Fords with the same bolt pattern. They were a favorite with hot rodders of the '40s.
