Just received a copy of REV today. I congratulate you on a kool rag. I appreciate the coverage on the Double Date event. It was a surprise to see it. The 2004 Double Date event is June 4, 5, 6 but don't forget we do have 3 other events. One in South Bend, Indiana in May, one in Lebanon Tennessee in July and one in Columbia Missouri in August. You should be able to find them listed on www.kustomsofameroca.com (http://www.kustomsofameroca.com) real soon. You are invited to all of them in 2004.

Jim...Glad you enjoyed the mag I publish...by the way, you should introduce yourself to the folks around here. Kinda like not bargin' into someones garage and actin' like your one of the guys before they know ya! How'd you hear about the message board? Don't want to get any wires crossed...REV isn't associated with the HAMB...we just hang out here thanks to Ryan who owns the joint!!!
Had a great time at the show and we look forward to it next year....Shawn
Get ready for what? Jim needs no intro...

Welcome to the board Jim.This is Ray from Tecumseh MI.Like they said before when someone joins in here it's usually good policy to do an intro.
Hope all is well with you and will see you next year at South Bend(if my eye problem is cured by then).

I'm sorry but this Intro stuff is starting to get a little silly...
There are over 3000 people on this board and I honestly can't remember a single intro...
I can't even remember mine.
I do however know who Jim is and would feel lucky to have him here to chat wtih from time to time. The fact that he's "Jim from KOA" oughta be intro enough.
I don't have 3000 people in my garage, do you?
Also a great intro doesn't make up for posting once a year or being a dipshit for your next 150 posts.
Phil, I agree with you. TP

Jim Hibbs, if my memory serves me correctly. Nice to have you here. We met quite a few years ago. I was the one that supplied the male directors of KOA with the dresses for the fashion show at the first Double Date show. What a HOOT! I never laughed so hard in my whole life and you were laughing so hard you were doubled over crying. I'll see if I can dig up some photos, and scan and post them.
Again, welcome to the HAMB

WTF! Just because a guy owns an association the whole board kisses his ass? No way man. The guy comes on here and his first post is spam for his upcoming shows next year and everyone is "Welcome Aboard"? BULLSHIT! I know some things about what this guy has done behind closed doors and thinks just because he's Jim ***** of the KOA its ok. Wrong! I paid my hard earned dough to be a member of HIS organization a few years back and the guy cares nothing about the people supporting HIS organization. All he cares about is the greenbacks going into his own pocket. Needless to say, he only got one year of dues out of me.
I don't say much around here and I hope I don't ruffle too many feathers, but this guy is one that the HAMB is better off without. I'd never talk shit without knowing the facts--and this guy is bad news. I'm sure some other HAMBers know just what I'm talking about.
I for one say, Hey Jim, you showed up and spammed up the joint, now BEAT IT!

OG lil E and Trey. Since you're unhappy about this, I think you need to elaborate. What's your beef? You know so much about Jim Hibbs, why not fill us in. While you're at it think about the childrens home in Burlington,Ky. and the donation they got from KOA. It's one of those things that Jim won't talk about. He'll probably be upset with me for mentioning it but dammit it's time you all see the good along with the so called bad.
I'll be the first to tell you that me and Jim don't always see eye to eye on things. He'll be the second to tell you. What I can tell you is that if you make one person mad the whole world will hear about it, but bring joy to many and everyone takes it for granted. What are you doing for the hobby?
As for an intro, well RYAN (you know him, he owns this place) seems to be happy with what Jim posted, so that should be enough.

Hey Jim, can you reserve me a camping spot at Wendover next year? I'd like access to the pool, too. Please don't put me next to the riff-raff again like last time, ok? My "neighbor's" dog peed on my chrome-reverses and the chrome lifted and discolored the plating sumthun fierce! I submitted a damage estimate to your fine campground company but have heard nothing! Could you expedite the process a little for me? Thanks,
Just yankin ya around a little, Jim! Welcome to the HAMB and tell the fine folks who you are and what you do...not everybody knows..
i never said i knew a think about him. see i dont dig kustoms that much, im into hot rods. which is a good reason for an intro. just looks to me like a dude who should be well known strolls in, and you guys are gonna open the golden gates of hamb for him, on your knees. i havent camped at my local koa in a while, but the last time, i didnt meet a guy named jim. dig my drift?

But if Ryan gives him a free pass I guess I should do some

this whole intro thing is getting stupid.........some of you guys have nothing better to do than jump on people ......yeah its nice when people do an intro....but get real THIS IS NOT A GARAGE .....nobody is walkin on your property and bargin in to your conversation .....its a fucking computer .....and trey lighten up dude .....you seem a little uptight man ....the way you come off you would think you had been her since day one .and this board is for rods AND customs......maybe some of you guys should go build something or try to do some positive things for this hobby and lay off the intro police stuff ......if ryan says no intro needed for him.....end of story.....i am not kissing ryan's ass or this guys ass...in fact i dont often see eye to eye with some of ryans views on things but that is cool too...and for the record i dont even know jim from koa..its no wonder some of the original guys dont come on here any more..........get a fuckin life.......
oh, dont get me wrong, i think intros are dumb as hell. but i always post one anyway, just to let people know who i am. i guess i dont think intros are dumb, but the fact of making a fuss over it is different. my problems is bob nobody gets on, doesnt make an intro, he gets flammed. but someone who is a little more well known is exempt from the ignorance. i could see boyd coming on here, and no matter how much shit is talked about him, someone would be all over his nuts...

I kinda like the intros. I look at it as HAMB is a club and the intiation is the intro. I've heard of clubs that have much more rigorous initiations... best described as hazing the pledge/prospect.

Why don't you do a "proper" intro, just so folks can "meet" you

OK, I was invited to join and did a terrible job of saying who I was. My name is Jim Hibbs and I have been trying to do a good job of running Kustoms of America since 1994. There seems to be many that do know me and some that just think they know me. As far as filling my pockets with money, I don't know how or when that happened. I am now 67 and I have invested my entire retirement into the organization and have never drawn a pay check to date. I have in fact paid an editor for every issue since 1994 and actually paid money that was owed the editor from the previous owner. Unfortunately appearance is not always what it seems to be and it is amazing that there are those who know more than I do about my business. I have been operated on for cancer this year and probably won't live as long as most of you. I do hate the bad mouthing of me and the organization and if you truly believe that crap you definately have been given the wrong impression. You can either welcome me or reject me, I'm too old and too tired to really care. I will continue to run Kustoms of America and try to keep it from ever dying again! Unless you would like to buy it and do it your self. You for sure wouldn't want to make the investment I have.

I have been trying to learn all I can about the Alexander Bros. custom done back in late'67-early'68, the Fiera. It was a fastback Galaxie that was a copper color and appeared on the Feb '68 Rod & Custom cover. Do you have any info on the car at all? Thank you...
