38 Olds 5-Bolt Trans, Good for Hot Rod?

I saw the ad in the classifieds about the 38 Buick trans and got to wondering...

I have a 38 Olds topshift trans with the 5-bolt top cover and was wondering if it would be a good trans for a Hot Rod.

Are they strong?
Will they hold up to rapid shifting?

What can you guys tell me about it?
