View Full Version : 1948 Ford Front Brake Help

We are putting brakes back together and can't find the brake shoe alaignment/retainer clip. It keeps the shoes in line with the drum. Without it the linings would rub the drums. Does anyone have a picture of the break assembly or know where the parts can be bought. I thought I had all the parts but can't find em.

I guess you're after part 2125, a basically deep-C shaped clip.
I say look again--these things are hard to find, and don't seem to be reproduced. I won't buy early Ford brake plates lacking these!
Dave Wilton, Ford brske guru, might be a source--I think if you look around Fordbarn or the V8 club you can find his number.
CW Moss lists used ones at a pretty high price. These are not good parts to lose!
By the way, pre and post war ones are different.
