This was in a customers shop. He says it was done in the 70's. All steel, but skinned in fiberglass. Doesn't look too comfortable to drive.
He's doing a frame for it and possible ladder bar rearend.
Will be Chrysler powered, I believe, and the kid (he's 19) who owns it is like 6'3"

And, no, the seat in back was tossed in as a joke... it will not be in the bed.

I guess a skim coat. You could feel under the lip of the bed and feel metal...then a big step up to the glass.
No, the tailgate says Ford. Painted with a brush. The way it came to his shop... sits really high.

skinned in glass? it may seem weird but it could be a local thing. that's actually the third vehicle i heard of around nw indiana skinned with fiberglass. one is a friend of mine's 3 wheeled sbc powered half harley contraption. it was built back in the mid 60's. supposedly didn't look bad back in the day, i don't know, i didn't see it then. a collision with a car bent the metal work underneath and cracked the glasswork.
the other is a model a roadster. maybe someone was better at laying glass than he was lead?
