JonnyRockets - Name actually came from my poker tournys.
Been a lurker on Hamb for awhile now, joined up a couple weeks ago, and my brain is already starting to fill up with knowledge!
Don't have much experience on cars yet - But I was bitten by the bug a friggin long time ago. Favorite vehicle was the 34 ford my father owned.
What do I own? I own a gas pump and a BBQ, both of which are going to get quite the treatment soon, Also started hunting last month, and will continue hunting until I find my first project.
As for the pump and the BBQ, the BBQ is a canadian made "Bulb-a-Q" fromt he 60's - 70s.
The pump - no clue - it's old, and I love it. I'd definitly hump it if it were a girl pump and I happened to be a gas pump myself.
My avatar - Well - love art, and love the style of empire32.

Hey! Looking for something that I fall in love with, and that I can afford! I've got a 53 chev 2dr. Hardtop I could get, but doesn't appeal to me in the same way as some other rods out there. All I know is I'm looking 30s - mid 50's, plus or minus a few years. So - Hot Rod Era, not muscle car era.
I love the look of the chopped model A fords, am keeping my eye out for something like that.
Again - I think I'll have to see the car in person, and it'll make me buy it.
Why? you have access to some vehicles? (I'll probably get flamed or something for even asking.)

Well then - not the person I'm thinking of. Yeah - there's a kick ass 34 ford roadster with rumble seat that drives around Saskatoon. My fathers old car, and sold it to his good friend years back. At least I still get to see it quite often.
have any pics of your 28 sedan? Done much to it yet?

I have pics, just organizing them to put a post on here of my progress on it soon. Chassis is all done and i had drawn everything for it ahead of time in ACAD as I am a draftsman. Its channelled way low, OHC inline for power and a T5 backin it all. Pics soon.
Any pics of your old mans ride?
I am just tryin to place that 34, i cant think of it at all... was he in the draggins?...Kingsmen?

Crap Man - no pics of the 34 on the computer - I'll have to find a few and scan them in.
I believe it was built by a fellow down in California somewhere, and was actually featured in a HotRod magazine. It was green when first built.
My father got it, and I believe he put the ZZ-TOP paintjob on it, as a kid that was wicked, alos had the ZZTOP keychain to go with it, then he did a colorchange to a gorgeous yellow.
My dads buddy Bob bought it, ripped the whole thing apart down to bare metal to make sure it was perfect, it was perfect - put it back together and painted it the same yellow.
I'm hoping to get that car back some day ;)
Looking forward to seeing pics of your ride(s)

Poker huh? Draw, stud, hold'em? Used to play a bit of hold'em in Vegas but now that it's all over the TV I'm thinking of changing to Bridge. LOL ;)

I don't think it was chopped at all, and if it was, it wasn't a very big chop!

I'm with you. I love hold'em also. I think it's why I'm so bitter about the TV shows.
Hell, I can remember back when some people weren't comfortable hanging around me because I drank, wore a pomp, gambled, drove old cars, and rode scary looking motorcycles. Now it seems like that's all I see yuppies doing on TV and on the street. I guess now, just to be different, I'll have to grow out one of those scary 'man-fros' and wear rugby shirts like on 'That '70s Show'. LOL

You could also bring back the "tennis sweater" look. Tie it around your neck. Drive a new beetle.

Now THAT'S funny!
There used to be a chopped red five window running around Wadena/Wynyard area back in the late 80's. I tried buying it once, at a car show, but not for sale.......
