I've begun to work on my car again!!!

Anyway, three years ago I called this my four year plan, as you will see by the pictures comeing, I have about four years to go.


I don't get much time to work on my stuff... the other day (wendsday?) my dad gave me the day to work on my car...

Hadn't worked on it for three years...been laying up against the wall....he went to a visitation for a buddy of ours, and I worked oh my car!

if you saw my intro and remember....that is the car.
1916-1922? buick roadster....shortened 5 1/2", narrowed 8" (body)....all I have is a cowl and what you could consider a "B/C" piller back.... no doors, no body framing



I have a idea in mind for the frame.....what you see is not always what you get!!!

Good for you Matt, Now keep working on it. Just make a point to do at least one thing a day and it will get togeather. And whatever you do make sure nothing happens to that grill shell, that has to go on that car.

here are the pics of Matt's 1916 Nailhead powered Buick roadster. this thing is gonna ROCK!!! and talk about UNIQUE! i know yer dad is proud as hell of you for finaly getting started on it again, and so am i buddy. i'll help you out as much as i can as i'm sure you'll be doing the same for me when i get going on my chassis. maybe we can get Mongo out there a couple weekends and the three of us can go to town on the "Bu-Sic"(TM). he finaly got a fire under his ass after helpin me with the "FnA"(TM) last weekend and is finaly workin on his Olds.

Matt, You should really consider looking for someone to do a good frame for you. You know the house is no better than the foundation. I might suggest someone with good welding skills, say someone who did welding for a living, maybe now retired, looking to give a serious young guy a helping hand. Its quite possible you might even pick up some skills you could use yourself someday. I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find just the right person to fill the above description. The only downside I can think of is after you get the frame done the person who helped you out there probable won't know anything about cars (especially old ones) so you'll be on your own to finish it. You can't expect too much out of old folks like I've described, most of them just want to get out on the golf course and relax.
If you end up on a dead end street I've heard of a cranky old bastard that lives over near St. Johns who has a couple of Model A's named Paul who may be able to steer you to someone who can help. In the meantime if I can be of assistance with something let me know. I'm always willing to help out an aimless kid who doesn't have a clue. haha!!!

Those early Buicks have such nice lines...it's gonna make a killer hot rod. I know a fellow HAMBer that has one in about the same shape....Weird...I had no idea there were 2 surviving 22 Buick roadsters...

the nose was built in 1951-1952 by a fella that went by the name of Doc Gage. the car: heavily chopped and channeled Deuce 5 window. Gage was a member of the Genisee Gear Grinders, and the car was at the first autoramabama in detroit, you can see the nose and the top of the car in the issue of TRJ that I had out yesterday and can't find today!

the dash is out of a (60's) MGA,

if anyone knows of a place I can get MGA stuff for a decent price, let me know. I'd like the dash, and all of its components to be factory MG parts.
