Any other area clubs I missed and folks that are just into traditional rides.
The Barons are having a Taco Run!
Were thinking it would be great to get together once a month to see and hear about what everybody else is workin on and eat some grub. This month were meetin at Mr Taco.
Having said it's all gonna be low key, I know some of you cats are ADD so I'll jazz it up a little. Here it goes....
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday the 19th of September at the San Pedro Exposition center (Mr Taco 3905 San Pedro) from 7-10 in the morning. It's the car gathering of the century!
See Barnett's fire breathing 3 HP Trike O Doom in it's South Texas debut!!! Some say it was born from the loins of the deveeeuuulll!!!! Other's from the conduit aisle at Lowe's.
See Lesabre59's.........59 Lesabre!!!! (Sorry Steve looks like your commited now)
Special appearances by Titus and the president of the Von Dutch corporation!
Hotrodhudson will be bringin out one of his 3507 rides. My good friend from LA, Sandman, just moved to town, he'll be bringin out his flatty powered roadster. Willie Salas from The Gear Grinders is bringin out his gorgeous 32' roadster. I'll be there in my Neon with the big ass frickin spoiler, blastin my Mariah Carey tunes (or my 33' if the mood strikes me)!
Surely we can get Sideburns out there, maybe even Krupanut and Buzzard?
Everyone's invited, so get your butts up early and support the cause. Help do your part to rid south Texas of German cars with Japanese stickers on em.

Hey, If I go, can I ride shotgun with someone? My Sedan is about 12% finished, so it wont be making to run unless I throw all the parts in the back of a truck. I'll be sure to be there just to hang out. Maybe a cool mofo will let me ride shotgun, or just let me sit in one of the cars for a few seconds and make vroom vroom noises.
Looking forward to meeting ya'll.

Wait, Buzzard is right. 7am is a little early, I'd have to head out here by 4:30 am to get there on time, or stay in SA on Sat night....

7 am? Ouch. How far is it from Aces 'n' Eights? (Where I'm supposed to be spending my Sundays.)
BARNETT
09-03-2003, 02:48 AM
Probably about 20-25 minutes from Aces & 8's. I think, in all honesty, I will be there more like 8:30...I'm a night person. Hell, 8:30 is gonna be feelin' reeeeaaal early to me, but I feel like this is a good local/semi-local thing to help try to get goin'. Cruise night here sucks...way to many weekend warriors and SUVs and stock-freakin-Corvettes. This is a chance to hang out (before the heat gets to be too bad) and get to know some like minded people in the area. And I haveta eat anyways, right?

I'll be there but I don't think 7 a.m. is my speed.

to think of all of those cars that I have, you would think at least one of them would run. I have to make this quick cause I had to break into someones house just so I could use a computer to check the Hamb out, It was either buy a new computer or speed equipment so you could all imagine what won out. We want to make this a monthly gig reaching all throughout southern Texas so if anyone knows of a good burger joint or BBQ restaraunt out in the middle of knowwhere let us know (maybe the knowbody's could help us out with that) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Crease....no midget coupe. I got a channeled '30 tudor sedan project. I am not cool enough to bring my car out, because it is in a thousand pieces, yet, still incomplete. IF I keep it, maybe I'll make it driveable and be able to roll with all you 'heads every once in a while.
Anyways, is this gonna be a meet, eat & cruise, or a meet & eat only? I'll decide the night before I'm sure, but I still say I'll be there.

I finally got my carb on the car, makes a big difference. Still gonna get my butt kicked at the drags, but who cares. Your surfer boy is freakin me out. Called him the other day and he was ordering barbecue.....complete with the Texas accent. "I gotta a hankerin fer sum ribs som bitch" (something like that). You and the little lady should seriously consider coming out to visit. Maybe the drags, the roundup or Pate? You'll have atleast 2 places to stay. You about ready to post some progress pics?
THC
I was thinking you had posted on the chopped and channeled A bone? We're just keeping it static this time. In the future we're hoping to cruise to some fun places. When we do start cruisin, we'll have plenty of room for you in one of the rides.

Has anyone mentioned that there IS a bar at Mr.Taco
for those that start drinking at 7:00 am. We promise that the next one will be more of a brunch or lunch type of event. For those of us who have night lives, and those coming from outside of town

Head down 35 to 410. Take 410 west to San Pedro. You'll want to go South on San Pedro (inside the loop toward the mall). It's about 3.5 miles inside 410 at 3905 San Pedro.
If you want to come down 281, just take San Pedro where it splits into 281 and San Pedro.
Not sure if you ever went by Billy's old shop, but that's where it's at.
If your looking for Plymouth parts, Nick's had some stuff out there. I'll call out there tomorrow and see if there gonna be open. If you need later model stuff Pick N Pull should be open.

Called out to Nicks, they are open from 11-2. Nicks is one of the more interesting yards, but not huge. They get 40, 50's and 60's stuff in pretty often.
If you want 70's and 80's stuff, I would head out to Pick N pull. They're open 8:30 to 5:00 on Sunday. Last time I was out there they had alot of slant six stuff.
