Was out running errands couple of days back.
Drove by this orchard and was amazed at the orange colors.
It was a bit cloudy out, but the orchard was bathed in sunlight.
Went back and took a few shots and this is my favorite.

This is one of the prettiest Falls we've had in years (at least in Northern California). The roadster looks kind of pretty too...

At first I thought you were saying that it was a New England style car, now I get it. That foliage is actually better than anything I saw when I was in Vermont back in October.

I had all the major parts for it in 1985.
Body, frame and front end are re-pro.
That cuz I'd just finished wrestling with the rust devil on my 63 Chevy half ton and was tired of it.

The car was an assembled roller with finished headers etc. by mid 86.
Got tangled up in some other stuff for a year, moved here to the San Joaquin Valley in 88, about 1990 I decided to get with the program and finish it.
November of 93 I got it licensed and have been driving it almost every day ever since.

I did everything on the car - including the top which was a kit - except for most of the engine machine work, the trans and upholstery.

Here's another view of the same place.

It's a fun car.

Fast forward one year:

C9 posts a picture of his black roadster in front of a Saguaro cactus somewhere in the middle of the Mohave Desert.He doesn't have to look for fall colors because everything is always brown and there are no trees in sight.

Jay,

Did you read my message on your post about the fender laws in Arizona?

Yeah, but London Bridge is mossy and green is it not? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I did see your post on the AZ fender laws.
Many thanks.

Up here in the far northern Cali, we didn't have fall. It literally went fron 97F to 57F in 3 days. That was a weird week, just before Halloween.

Major suckage, the 50s was the high temps, at night it was in high the 30s. Now lower of course. They keep talking that it'll snow here on the next system.

Oh wait, this is sunny Cali, it's perfect here all the time. Pay no attention to the tak of snow. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice Shot Jay. Looks like it could be on the cover of Streetscene. We had a nice colorfull fall this year in Michigan as we do every year. But now we will suffer the wrath of winter once again. I guess its all a trade off.
I can't remember the last time we had A Flood, A Earthquake,A Wildfire, Lets see what eles am I missing....oh yea A Mudslide, Killer Smog.
I have learned one thing in life besides a Hiboy Roadster being the most fun you can have driving, there are no Utopias http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Jay, Looks like you are having fun with the '32. Are we going to see pictures of the A roadster on a color tour next fall? Its sure nice to just get in a hot rod and go for a drive any time the urge hits you. I haven't been driving my '32 2dr as much this fall and I really don't know why. Everytime I walk by it I can hear a little voice calling "lets go for a spin". Maybe I'll get some miles on it this afternoon, Its nice and warm out and that is rare for this time of year here.

Actually there are.
You're only allowed to stay at them for a short while....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fab, ez to say, but just get in the tudor, light er off and head out somewhere.
Anywhere.
I run errands in mine all the time.
You'd be amazed at what I've hauled in it.
Small load of stainless rod.
Steel - wrapped in towels and buckled in with the passenger seat belt.
2 x 4' pieces of plywood slid in the unsnapped rear window, over the roll bar and on top of the windshield frame - with top up - and bungeed to the roll bar.
8' pieces of lumber, 2 x 4's & smaller.
Tires (2), mounted tires (one at a time - the fuel cell in the rumble takes up a bit of room).
Seven lugs of navel oranges to hand out to vendors I deal with on Christmas.
Hey, with a white beard and red stocking cap it looks like Santa Claus in a roadster.
The list goes on, but what amazes me are the guys who lust after these cars all their lives and once they get them they don't drive them.
Life's short, enjoy what you can on the way.
Take your sweetie with you when you go
Mo' bettah that way....
