Back when I was 15 (i'm closing in on 40 ) I picked up a 34 Ford sedan "field car" from my uncle. Worked relentlessly on that car for 4-5 years. It kept this young boy out of a lot of trouble :D. Never finished it... 4-bar front with dropped tube axle. 9" rear with ladder bars and OEM style spring. I originally put a small block chevy in it but there was a real bad knock. I then planned to put in a 351C that I got from a friend that was pro built and never ran + 4 spur top loader. This is when progress came to a halt... (still have the car :))
Spring forward to "today". My dad gave me his 33 5-window that he bought in '58. He drove it for about 5 years and went through a couple of flat heads and then a caddy with 2-4's. Engine/trans/interior/etc have since headed different directions but the all steel body/fenders are nearly rust free. I also have a nearly new GM ZZ4 crate motor and Z56 trans that will probably power this car.
This pic was actually taken this past winter when I brought Dad's car home:

I am feeling the itch to get at least one of these on the road real soon! Dad is not getting any younger and would really get a charge out of driving the '33 again. This winter I will dive in head first! The easiest/quickest plan of attack is to put the GM ZZ4 into the 34 chassis and plop on the '33 body. That is my plan (subject to change at any moment ;)).
