hey guys,

in looking into a couple years down the road project ive decided on either a model A tudor, or a 36 ford car of any two door body style.

i know that A bodys arent that horribly hard to come by but how hard is it realy to find a 36 body, fenderse ect?

just thought id ask ppl that know

They're not terribly difficult to find, but it seems that they are generally more costly than a Model A. Dad and I have 3 cars (5 win, 3 win and 4 dr) and 2 chassis' (sbc and flathead) waiting for bodies. We're looking for a roadster body for the flathead chassis.

Do you want a coupe or a 2 dr sedan?

i know itd cost more then an A abvoisly, but i figure i can adjust the cost by building my own frame and bla bla bla just like you would an A. doa ground up bad ass 40s kustom

i realy like the coupes but the car that struck my intrest was a sedan.

what do they typicaly run for a body, guess a whole car would be easyer to find and then just junk all the stuff id ont want.

gona be a while just barely finihsing this car right now but down the road....

I'd like to find a sedan myself to build a faux woodie out of...

No, this thing is an abortion, but it would easy to do it properly.

Depends. Dad bought a 4 dr body for $200. I've seen fairly a complete coupe at swap meets for $2000 (but in reality it was a $1000 car IMO) You can probably find a sedan for around $2000 for a pretty decent project. Actually, whatever you budget is, I'm sure you will be able to find something if you take your time.

I wouldn't build a new frame on a '36. It's not like an A. THere is a lot more mass there. You'll probably get a frame with the car. You generally don't find just a '36 body very often, in my experience. They weren't cut up and modified like the earlier cars.

a little less than a '33,'34,'39,'40, not too far from a '35,'37,'38 but a lot less than a '32.

Last summer I bought a '35 Coupe body and frame, rust free, without doors or front sheet metal, but trunk lid intact for $100. Two weeks ago I bought a '37 Coupe body, no frame with doors and trunk lid, no floors, great rod material, again for the sum of $100.

They are getting harder to find all the time, but they're still out there!!

Depends how close you can get to one with your pants around your ankles...

Sorry, it was just too damn easy!

It also depends on how tall you are...

I depends on the motivation + age + location. When the planets align I could hit a '36 Ford from about 3 feet! A '32 B-400 (motivation) from about five! Pam Anderson, well ...

There was a 36 sedan in North Texas earlier this year but Mr. Elmo Rodge snuck into town loaded it on a trailer and spirited it back to Kal I Fon Ya! Would be willing to bet that it is much shorter than it was when it left our fine state.

Doggonit Eddie, you're all over me. Yeah, I snaked that Tudor outta Tejas. Had it running in a week and a half, too. It is progressing nicely but slowly. If I wasn't so used up, it'd be on the road by now. They're out there. Found mine in Hemmings. Wayno
