'77 is a bit out of the scope of the HAMB.

Welcome.

While '77 is newer than what we normally see on HAMB, I'm guessing Brandon is a young guy and that '77 F100 may be as old or older than he is. An '82 model is as old now (28 years old) as my '38 Ford pickup was when I paid $15 for it in 1966. My '55 Ford (parents bought it new) was 13 years old when I got it in '68. That's the same age that a '97 model is now. Just about any old car or truck will do for a kid to learn his way around on. Basic body work, straightening dents and fixing rust, is the same for a '77 F100 as it is for a '32 Ford roadster. The older stuff without computer controls and with a carburetor and breaker point ignition is a lot easier to learn on and harder for a shadetree mechanic to mess up. If we treat Brandon right, give him a little encouragement, help him along if we can, he just might manage later on to trade his way up to something that is more traditional hot rod/custom material. That's why Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup and Ozelle the '55 Ford are sending friendly horn honks to Brandon and his '77 F100. That's why, if I lived closer to Gardendale AL (I do know where it is), I'd be finding my way over to meet Brandon, look over his truck, see how he's coming with it, and see if I could help him.
