grew up in the backwoods of northern california, mom had a '49 plymouth 3 on the tree that was often home more than home was. i bought it off her for $600, learned to drive without brakes on mountain roads, had to sell her in houston. 20 years later i finally am back in a classic, and it's like coming home in every way. what having a classic means to me far surpasses style. it's a way of life, of good old fashioned values, and for a gal who likes to keep things simple and direct, it's all i need.

i am fierce about my love for the old cars. i will NOT allow anyone to work on my vehicle if they even start to spout about how i should have gotten a subaru.

checking i with forum rules and such, i realize my car probably isn't what you guys are into, but as a fan of all classics, i would like to at least be here to read and learn. i may be switching out tomorrow for an older model, at the least i will start redoing my interior on top of all the other work i am putting into my val. the only custom thing on her tho is the fuel cell and shaved rear door handles.

so, if ya'll can be patient and let me lurk, i would appreciate not being kicked off for not having something more dazzling. also, i am currently without pix of my car, besides ya'll probably just make fun of me, so bear with the avatar till i can bring a diff pic.

Welcome to Portland...so...what are you rock'n? You'll find Portland, as well as this board, is pretty open minded...

If you're a 'Motorhead'...you're off to a great start...

See ya' at Voodoo?

Welcome from another Portlander. I think Valiants are plenty cool, tell us more about yours and maybe a photo or two.

hey, thanks!

yesterday i headed up to wildcat for the parts pull and on the way (flying solo i might add) i threw my spider gear and dropped my rear end in the valiant. ponied up with josh from slant6, there was NO way i was turning around, by hook or by crook i was getting her up there! rolled her the last twenty miles trouble-free, oddly enough. i think she was ready for her grave.

where i got a 1962 dodge lancer GT. SCHWEET!

the interior is great, i have some housekeeping to do but all the original blood-red vinyl is there and mostly intact. body straight, with a tiny bit of rust i will work out. i'll be doing her flat black, met gracen and his dad at wildcat and there's a paint party in the near future!

i switched out those tires in the pic for my stock valiant tires, there was an issue of proper fit on the ones you see.

after lot reduction for the pull, $100 dropped at the trade, and $400 trade in for the valiant, i got this car for $1100, and i absolutely trust wildcat to have sold me a solid vehicle. they referred me to north american muscle cars for further repairs. http://namcmopar.com
