The 575B coupe belongs to Ron Schmit along side Keith Cornell's 3window. Both super guys. I was in a car club with Ron's late brother Jim who helped me alot when I was getting into hot rods. I think Keith is making the drive to LA Roadster show in 04. I don't know if Ron will be there.

Mine. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Well for awhile it was semi-fenderless.
Aside from that, it was/is an chopped 'n blown '34 Ford featured in Hot Rod in '87 or '88. Can't seem to find the link for it. The owner was from Livermore, it was one of there 10 best for '87 or '88. Orange, severely chopped, tubbed in the back to fit the big ol' Goodyear meats, a hemi up front with a supercharger whose air scoop seemed to tower taller than the roofline. Chrome gasser-style mags up front. Man, I'd love to see that photo again.
Showed it to Dad, he told me if the state didn't prohibit a teenager driving that kind of machine, then he would, just for me.
'Twas definitely one of my all-time dream cars, to this day. Great post, Tim!

I am kinda surprised that no one mentioned the fenderless 34s that an LA dealer raced at Mines Field in 34 and 35...almost completely stock except no fenders or windshield.
Yes they were badass right off the dealer sales floor.

Always surprised me that a real nice high boy can be almost stock.
Boy they looked cool...

LUKESTER, if I'm not mistaken, that car was featured in Hot Rod magazine several years ago. It's owned (or was) by someone well known....he owns an induction company or something, Inglese maybe?...damn, I hate it when this happens. I remember looking at that car when I was building my tub. I almost painted the tub flat beige. I would rate that right up there on my list.

SO many kool cars....this post got me thinking..

1- Pierson Bros. coupe. None cooler. Defined the radical chop. Still looks right and radical today.

2- McMullen Roadster - Defined the black-with-flames look for roadsters, defined "60s-era", still looks great today

3- Shine's truck. Redefined "cool" when people were looking for a measuring stick. Brought the rat rod look to a finely-crafted machine. Looked industrial, racy, nostalgic, and fresh at the same time. Took my breath away when I first saw it. The perfect "anti-billet" poster child. Will be making a strong statement for many years to come.

My Dad's car (cause I'm a little biased)...

http://actiongirlart.com/dadscar.jpg

It's my favorite because he built it himself and it's the car he always dreamed about having. My Dad's been into cars his whole life, but this was the one he always wanted. My mom did the interior and my cousin did the paint- a weird family collaboration.

It's also the fastest car I've ever been in which is the entire point, right? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now if I can only get him to stop lurking and intro himself, then we'll have something...

A orange 32 sedan I seen in one of the mags many years ago (smooth halibrands I think)

I am kinda surprised that no one mentioned the fenderless 34s that an LA dealer raced at Mines Field in 34 and 35...almost completely stock except no fenders or windshield.
Yes they were badass right off the dealer sales floor.
There are good photos of them in the Ford history books, slidin sideways on the dirt track.
Always surprised me that a real nice high boy can be almost stock.
Boy they looked cool...This one!!!:D Sparky

Wow Boones, I am truly flattered, I don't think my car is worthy of the company of the other two you mentioned.
I am assuming you were referring to the 33? This one has been out of comission for over a year going through a revision while I have been getting the 32 roadworthy, here is the latest picture.
BTW, My favorite fenderless car is definitely the Cop Shop Coupe. I can't remember the owner's name, but you are one lucky guy!

Three come to mind right away

Duane Spencer Roadster (pictured above I believe - classic black, clean and nostalgic)
Chris Ito (its fenderless if my memory is correct)

I'll stand on my '03 nominations -- Doane '32 and Ivo T -- for their excellence and their influence on hundreds of cars that followed. Here are some others that stand out for me:

George Poteet's '32 5W
Jim Busby's '32 5W
Robert Williams' '32 3W

Too much black? How about this, then?

Thats the Eastwood-?Barakat? car it was on the cover of Hotrod in the '80s.
One of the first "beater" cars thrown together by Pete Eastwood and Barakat.
Had a healthy sbc in it and ran stong at the track. It was red oxide with a red/orange frame.

I first saw this car in the February 1982 Classic & Custom magazine. The photo below is a scan (complete with centerfold crease) from that issue (photo was by Lee Pratt): Bob Zazzi's Little Deuce Coupe.

It was everything I loved about rods, but hadn't experienced in years. I saw it in person at the first Lead East show and it was even better that I had imagined. Twenty-three years later, I still love this car. Anyone know if it is still around?

Without a doubt.........Lance Sorchik's "Jeresy Suede". There is no other.....

I am digging here........I must have missed this post.....What ever happened to "Jersey Suede"? I have pix of it from back in the 80's when I used to stand around it and say "Wow". I also found a pix of a Model A with a blown SBC that was fenderless and red from Texas. The thing that was cool is I called the guy every weekend and chatted with him about his "A". I wonder what ever happened to it. I will try to get a pix of it and post it.

I have to give it up to Metalshapes. I really liked his car up until the day we stopped by his house on the way home from Lone Star Round Up and now I love his car. It is hard to appreciate how detailed every single little piece of this car is until you get the "Official Metalshapes Tour". And sitting in this thing is really cool because the way the body is welded to the frame and the floor pan is actually at the bottom edge of the frame -- lots of head room with the top on.
