Packing up the stuff now to make the move from Oakland, CA to Raleigh, NC. My '54 is getting picked up to be transported to the East Coast next week. My bike is going on a moving truck and I'll be driving out there with a buddy the day after Turkey Day. My wife is out there now trying to find us a house with a big enough garage and a fenced yard for the dawg. Let me know if any of you HAMBers are kicking around that part of the country and maybe we can grab a beer and I can get the low-down on the town. Feel free to email me at primered54@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance for any help!

I know I'm just a dick but good luck. I know you guys will do great. It must be pretty exciting starting a whole new life. I'd wait a little while before unleashing the full power of the donkey rope on those poor unsuspecting east coasters.

Welcome to the great state of Nominally Confused. Unlike California we can't recall our governor Mike "tax em till they move away" Easley so we've started a grassroots campaign to have him deported to Massachusetts. We're convinced he's another illegitimate Kennedy. His motto is: No tax too high or policy too liberal".

That move should save you lots of $$$$$$. A friends son just moved there from Mass. and he saved $1100 on car insurance and $600 / month on rent !!!!!!
Good luck .

Welcome! No guarantee I'll hook up with you in a timely fashion...all I've done is talked on the phone to Tim (was on the HAMB as t), and he's been down here from NY about a year. I keep thinking I'll invite him over to see the '38 when I'm doing something interesting, and I don't never have any time to do anything to it!!!

I'll e-mail you from home...

My mom lives in Fayetteville (about 1-2 hours south on I-95) so I'll be there over Xmas.

I hope you like NASCAR...

go ahead and make plans for heavy rebel weekender the weekend of the 4th of july. in fact you may even want to go ahead and book yourself a room at the adams marl for it as it will probably be booked up by the first of the year. there's a good bit of stuff that goes on around here, but this is by far the best. i think the vendettas car club from raliegh are having a big show in march or so also. try to find a house just outside of raliegh if you can it'll be cheaper. there's alot of us hambers over here on the western side of the state look us up also when you get settled in. good luck with the move. i hate movin' more than anything...ken....
