So, a little about me. I grew up here in Bullhead City, AZ, and with the exception of a few years out in SoCal, I've lived here all my life. I'm married to my best friend, and we've got two wild and crazy boys. I'm in the ministry here at Calvary Bullhead, serving as an Assistant Pastor. I do what I love, and love what I do.
As a teenager I got into skating, and eventually surfing, when I move to Cali. Had several friends that I surfed with that built hot rods and cars, and that's probably where I really fell in love with the culture.
As far as my car background, I grew up wrenching on all my cars, from the time I started driving. I generally had T*yota trucks, although one of my favorites was my 69 Ford Ranger with the 390. Man, I loved that truck. I would say I know enough about cars to get myself into trouble, and can usually bluff my way out.
My current ride is a 1964 Biscayne sedan. Love the daylights out of this thing. It's got the original 230 and Powerglide combo. I picked it up as a basketcase, basically, and got it on the road. It is my daily driver, and I drive the daylights out of it.
As of right now, I've lowered it, and that's basically it. I'm working on straightening out the body in the rear as it was involved in a rear collision at some point, so I'm learning body work the fun way. I definitely have my work cut out for me, but it'll happen.
The plan is to shoot for a early 60's style custom. Shave the handles, either chrome smoothies or Astros, and a flake and scallop job. Thinking about side pipes, maybe Bellflowers. Not really interested in making it a show car, since it's my daily. But I think it will be a good first foray into the custom world.
I'm part of a really sweet group of guys called The Leaners here in Bullhead, and I'm definitely learning a lot. Having spent the majority of my formative years in the off-road crowd, this has been fun learning about this end of things. I definitely dig it here. I don't know that I would call myself a car guy, but I've always loved classics, customs, and rods. I'm stoked to finally have one of my own.
So, there you go. Glad to be here, and looking forward to learning!
