View Full Version : Wood door jamb - striker fix?

Looking for some other poor soul that has wood in their car to help figure out a fix for door striker/catch on 36 Chevy coupe. Moved to CO and wood is drying out from ARK humididity....any ideas appreciatied

Is the wood behind the striker bad? A few pics may help. I am just replacing the wood in my 31 Chevy Landau Phaeton. There are several places that sell replacement wood. Mabey a few more specifics on the wheres and we can see where we go.

36 Chev....You will get better response if you place this question on the main board,,after you introduce yourself here in this forum

Ken 1939 - thanks for your reply - the wood is sound but i believe that the nuts that hammer into the wood on the backside are twisting as I cant get the striker bolts out or in. The area is on the doorjamb where the striker latch keeps the door closed.

We just kinda like to know a little about you personally....That is what this forum is for,,to INTRODUCE YOURSELF..and Ryan wants you to and he is the boss....his board,his rules.....
