Greetings from the deep, dirty, sweaty, humid South,
I've been coming to this site for years for reference/tech articles/events/etc. Actually posted an intro under a different name in 2002 and it was put under the DONOTDELETE file for Formal Introductions. Just decided to rejoin/reintro.
It's amazing what a sucess the HAMB has become. It's even more amazing that it has managed to stay pure despite the barrage of trends, posers, big egos, etc. that have attempted to dilute traditional hot-rodding.
I've always loved old cars. I turned wrenches for a living a couple of times when I was younger and have always done as much of my own maintenance/repair as possible. Things got serious for me when a greaser from the Inland Empire with a '53 Merc moved nearby. I jumped into working on that car with him feet first and eventually joined The Hell Bent Hoods CC. Since then, I've been married twice, made some babies, survived a gnarly motorcycle wreck and joined a rockin' bluegrass band. During that time several projects came and went: '64 Fairlane, '55 Ford, '51 Ford, 70 BSA T-bolt.
My last car was a '51 Ford Biz Coup. The HAMB lent invaluable tech advice to this project. The last show I went to was Billetproof Florida '09. Two of us Hoods were out there with our bikes. Currently, I'm saving my bones for something new and hopefully will be pulling my hair out within the year.
