I've been meaning to get a set of car dolly's for the longest time but most places are charging up to $120 US for two so that means that you have to shell out $240 US for a set! So, I went to COSTCO today to do the monthly grocery shop and as I was walking throught the isles I found car dolly's for only $60 canadian for all 4!!! Needless to say that I got them and they are now happly restion under my 62 biscayne. Anyways I just wanted to pass this good buy along to any of you guys that are intrested. Oh yeah I almost forgot, they also had a 40,000 LBS jack on sale for $20.95 Canadian too! and a creeper for $25.97. So if anyone needs any of these you should grab them fast before thay run out!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Are the dollies fairly heavy?

Reason I ask is I bought a couple from Harbor Freight a few months back and they seem overly heavy.

One thing I would not do with them is store the car on em.
One of Sunny California's earthquakes would make for an interesting garage once the dust settled....

I won a set of "Backyard Buddy"'s dollies at an NSRA event and those are heavy. I keep my coupe on them all winter so I can roll it out into the middle of my garage when I get time or ambition to work on it. I can roll it around without any help.Nice.
I've seen some other brands at Walmart and other stores but the wheels are really small.I don't think they would roll around very easily.

Yes, size does matter.
I made a set of dollies, bought 3" casters at OSH because they were cheaper, they did not roll for shit with the weight of a car on them, went back and spent a bunch of money on 4" casters, they work a whole lot better. So be cautious, sometimes the less expensive route is not the best.

I got a set of those roller skates under my 39 chev and they are the cats ass! I was thinking about making a set but one HD caster from Princess auto was about what the whole dolly cost from Costco.

Harbor freight had a pair rated at 1000lbs each for half price last week....4 cost me about $80 american.....had to assemble them (god I love my air ratchet) and slide them under my 72 truck project.....work great!
