Just wondering.....I checked the Kontinentals site but didn't see anything.

I would guess that it will eb on the last week of May or first April like it has been. I hope it is at the gardens again. I thought that place was pretty good.

I didn't make it last year cause I was thrashing on the Fly. But this year...I was gonna make it a "have to attend" event.

Last weekend in March is when we plan to have it every year. That's all I got at this point. The website will probably go up in January sometime and we'll post here when it does.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate this year. It worked out for the drags OK. Rained all around the track but never on it... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

30, I was driving my 96 Chevy truck at the drags. I have a chopped 31 coupe, flat black, with a 327. Didn't get it running right after new cam, heads, roller rockers, trans, and shifter change before the races. It'll be right, soon.

hey ROOT that car moved to a different state... and not under its own power. I bought a new shooter, it rules. But I was seriously thinking about driving the Ford truck I drove to the Hamb drags and trailer one of my piles to the round up. Like the HEX...

either way im going...
and it WONT BE IN THE FREON http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This year those heading south from DFW (and beyond) met at The Health Camp in Waco for lunch on the way down.

'Twas a sight to behold...

Tuck, if you want to trailer the Hex to Fort Worth, then drive it down with the rest of us from there, I've got a safe place you can store your truck and trailer that's right off of I-35. Just a thought...

Tuck
11-18-2003, 06:02 PM
BASS that would f'n RULE. We can hammer out the details when the time comes. I'll get my pile ready... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I need to fix my O/D

Bass

The offer's on the table. There should be a large group of us driving down there together. Hell, there will probably be at least 10 shoeboxes if we hook up with HankCash and the guys in Dallas.

Do I need to mention that you only have a little over 4 months? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The bro's and ho's in the Coollows are in fo sho!
We should have everyone up and running by March.
We still have plenty of time to plan this thing, but we should for sure get a caravan that stretches from Dallas to Austin this year. Everyone planning on going down Friday @ noon-ish? That would be best. Just think, we still have winter yet to come and go before the show, but I am still anxious!

Maybe I'll drive up to Plano, spend the night at Mom's house, and cruise down with ya'll!!!

It'd sure be the Friday before last year. I spent hours trying to bleed beatniks defective master cylinder. Defective ones don't bleed near as well, I come to find out.

Come on up Buzzard.
Plano is across the street from me.
Did you go to school in Plano?
Did you beat up a skate-punk named Jeff?
If so, maybe we have unfinished business...

Maybe the Coollows will park IN the show this year.
We couldn't get 2 of the club cars registered cause' they were 65's.
We have a club rule at shows "everyone or no-one gets in".
I think that with all of the trading of cars, we only have one non-50's car left in the club....
we'll see.....

I'm going to try and make it down in my 54 chevy. I'm trying like hell to get the 5" chop done but all this rain isn't helping me much. Wish I had a shop to work in instead of my sandy driveway. I'll be coming from arkansas if anyone else is going the same way. I'm trying to find some other people to go to.

Reggie-

You guys come on up and follow us down Friday.... it would be great. Everyone bring a bag of marshmallwos so we can play some "highway tag"!

Are you using drop spindles up front or did you cut coils?
thanks

I'm using Fatman dropped uprights and I cut 1/2 coil. Steering box is an early 1970's volvo bolt-in. The rear are Posies parallel springs with a 1" block.

Sounds like the LSRU will be the biggest "Shoebox" show with the longest "Shoebox" parade from Minnisota to Austin! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Unless there are some gutsy northern roadster warriors with WWW snow tires! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I wonder How many Rods from the North are going to make it to Austin...? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
